The thread title pretty much sums this one up, I realise many of you are thinking ''oh it's this thread again'' but I wanted to hear this from the other side. While we all hear storys of guys being placed in the friend zone but we never hear about woman in the same position or atleast I havn't. So woman of the escapist have you ever been placed in the friend zone and men, have you ever placed woman in the friend zone? I don't have any storys like this but this is something i've thinking about for a while now and I was wondering if anybody else would be kind enough to share their experiance.

I love how the title implies that there's only one woman on the Escapist. I know there are more male gamers than female, but it's not THAT diverse.

OT: Though I am not a woman, I have put female friends in the friend zone.

She was in love with me, but never dared to say it, so she just implied it from time to time. Eventually I had to make it clear that we were friends and nothing more. I feel a bit sad for her, but it would've ended worse if I pretended to love her back.

I can't stop laughing since you pointed that out. I don't know why I find it so funny. Made moreso by the fact the first four replies are all male.

I'm one of those old-fashioned guys who sticks to commitment, so any girl I hang out with is stuck as a friend.

I've put two girls in the friend zone. One a while back because she was ugly to me (she had really short hair and I just don't like that) and I had no interest in her (even as a friend, really). A couple of months later she started dating my best friend and roommate, which turned out to be a terrible thing for him. She actually kidnapped him for a day. We were both in the Army and he was very close to getting into some serious trouble when he didn't show up for work. But yeah, that ***** was crazy.

The other is someone I'm still friends with and, once again, happy I didn't date. She is pretty enough and I dig her as a person, but when we first met I was dating my current girlfriend/fiance. Now I couldn't even imagine dating her because we've been friends for so long.

Guy here. None of my female friends are in the "friend zone". That place sucks and it is torture being there. Therefore I don't do the same since nobody really deserves to be there.

P.S. Welcome to the escapist!

edit: if you are quoting me to go "What the fuck are you talking about?" please provide your definition of the "friend zone" so I can answer your question faster. Our definitions may be different.

(as a guy) I've put a lot of girls in the friend zone actually. I feel kinda bad, cause they sit and try to flirt with me so obviously, and when I try to blow them off to give them the hint, they get more aggressive about it.

Hahahaha, that must be awful for anyone friendzoned in a situation like this.

"yeeeeeeeaaah, I'm not interested...in your whole gender.....sorry..."
Most girls take it pretty well. I mean, they can't think they're too fat, too tall, too boring, too plain, too ugly, too stupid or too old. Apart from having too many X chromosomes.

Occasionally some think I've led them on a little bit (and maybe I have), and then I think they do feel a bit miffed.

I've been put in the friend zone many times. Including by the current guy I'm in love with.

Guy here. I have tried time and again to give girls the easy let-down (I'm really popular with the ladies, despite never having a girlfriend). They never get the hint. Hell, there's a girl in the next town right now who was let down six years ago and still won't accept it.

Male here. I've never had any females interested in me, so its not possible for any "friendzoning" to happen.
