Alas, that's how it seems to go for me too. Girl I like, ends up going out with someone who seems like a bit of a loser. At least you don't have to listen to the part where she comes back and complains about what a horrible person he is, but she's still staying with him, or she's going to date someone else (no, not you). The song "Laugh Laugh" comes to mind often about these sorts of situations.
Here's what you do. Buckle down. Cut off all communication with these girls. If you still work with them, only speak to them when they speak to you, and only give them the smallest about of information. "How's your day going?" "Good." Stuff like that. If she asks you what's wrong, look her straight in the face and say, "Nothing." Then, after she wonders why her friend is no longer talking to her, find another job. One that pays extremely well (compared to what you were making) and drop off the face of her world. Show up later, after you have 'made it', with a girl that you truly love and she truly loves you. Then take great pleasure as this girl you liked stares at you and goes, "Dammit, I'm such an idiot. How did I let him go?"
This is my plan anyway, as I have gone through what you're going through more times than I care to admitt.
