Some 1000 years of civilization and 100 of equality doesn't undo millions of evolution. Males of our species evolved to be fighters/hunters. And then, our military technologies evolved to take best advantage of what we had been given from nature. Men are better at this, and I don't see why would symbolism cover the expenses of less able fighting in the frontline.

Whoever can bleed for three days and not die should be on the frontline, that's my opinion.

It's tricky.
1) Men who have seen women wounded in war have been shown to suffer much more severe trauma than those that have not.
2) Men have less complicated bodies, and are less prone to complications from injuries than women.
3) Men instinctively act to protect women in danger, regardless of the amount of training they receive.
4) This one was raised by a member of the Australian Defense Force, and equality aside it is a good point. It will result in more female casualties than male, as women do not have the same physical strength as men and the majority of conflicts have all male armies. Women faced with hand to hand combat with men are more likely to be injured or killed than men.

I have not made up my mind about it, but the arguments against it are quite compelling, just as the ones for it.

I find this kinda funny, though it's not that simple, I think it's still amusing.

OT:This decade+ long argument gets on my nerves, women want the best of both worlds, they want to be treated like women but at the same time have all opportunities as a man, this just simply DOES NOT WORK.

For the front line part, sure, why not, if males are getting their heads blown off, why not females too? are they special? are they superior? No.

I don't see why not. It's not like we're fighting with swords anymore, so physical strength is no longer the main factor in how effective a soldier is.
