The wolf is portrayed as bad because she is aggressive, but because of her belief that she is superior to men.
Look at the picture again..

Incidentally, can you name me a feminist who believes that women are superior to men? Like, an actual published writer (Valerie Salonas doesn't count, she's not a feminist and never claimed to be).

I can name you a couple of self-avowed anti-feminists who believe that.

NO! The reasonable person who wants equality. And the misandrist who wants superiority.
You really don't know what you're talking about, do you?

This is what happens when you open your mouth about something you've deliberately 'avoided' learning anything about.

I'm confused. Are you saying that picture is misogynist?
Yeah, basically..

The "good (passive) woman"/"bad (aggressive) woman" dichotomy has plagued popular discussion about feminism since it's very inception. The image you've just used is a perfect example.

Beyond the fact that it's just basic neurotic rabbling.

Come on.... that's like the most well-known idiom there is....

It's got nothing to do with passiveness or aggressiveness. It's got everything to do with sheep (good, gives you wool) and wolves (bad, eats your sheep).

Have you honestly never heard of this idiom or are you trolling?

Every time I see "Womens Rights", I think of this guy I faced in MW2 S&D named 'WomenzRightsLOL', or something along those lines.
I pretty much agree with you. Women have a ways to go till they have equal status as men, and I think its great that some women make it their life goal to try and attain those rights, but turning "I wanna be equal to guys!" to "FUCK GUYS!" is never good...

No I can't, because I do not do intensive research on feminist writers. But there are women who believe that, and leave bad impressions for feminisim. You don't have to be famous to have an impact on someone's belief of a group.

And?

Do you think an idiom can only be used with clear rules governing its rhetorical intention?

That's a very revealing interpretation..

Think about the implications of what you just said.

Really, I wouldn't even have gone that far myself.

This is probably going to be said a million times over, but it's not about woman rights, it's about human rights in general. Woman and men are equal. If one disagrees I'm really curious for an explanation.

Of course, there is a scientificly measured difference between the mindset of men and women, and what men and / or women are generally better at then the opposite sex. I don't care. One picks a job they like, one works a job they like, one lives a life they like, one is equal to all other.

I think too many people, including some feminists themselves, confuse feminism and misandry. Misandrists give feminists a bad name but they're two different things really.
As a card-carrying misandrist, I have to agree with what this guy posted. Generally, feminism is about equality and choice. Misandry is about having a cross to bear and an axe to grind.

Misandry, as with misogyny, is about being an idiot. There is no getting around this.

What? That farmers believe sheep are good and wolves are bad?

A farmer with lots of sheep is able to feed and clothe his family.
A farmer with lots of wolves dies.

It's not hard....

This idiom's been around for over 500 years. It's meaning is as defined as any word in the dictionary. Anyone in western culture not ignorant or obtuse knows it's meaning.

So really, you're either ignorant, obtuse and looking to be offended or trolling.

Thanks for the personal attack, bro. Not sure what I did to deserve that, since I'm pretty sure I conducted myself in a fairly civil manner. Receiving a random personal insult out of nowhere from someone I wasn't talking to doesn't exactly show me the error of my man-hating ways, though.

Like i said, some people simply will not admit the fact that there are things they never heard of or dont fully understand
Yeah... you're probably right...

It's just hard to understand how someone from the UK can be that ignorant of such a well-known idiom. I could understand someone from say Japan not knowing it, surprised but still understanding. But the UK?

Stuff like this comes up in primary schools, television shows, casual conversation and basically everywhere all the time. It's like not knowing what a grapefruit is....

Oh my god.. stop digging, and think about it.

Equality Feminist = sheep.
Female Supremacist (whose existence I can assume, because as far as I can see they don't exist as a significant social force) = wolf
Man = ? (in this analogy)

Questioning the application of an idiom doesn't mean I don't understand it. You understand the word 'idiot' yet you might have a problem if I called you one.

Well done for at least proving me right.
What you did to deserve it was have a stupid stupid stupid opinion on gender. Honestly, there is no way you can justify it whatsoever.

I think the error is quite obvious in hating something because of its gender
Or am i just overthinking this?
You're underthinking it. Let me elaborate. I hate what society dictates men should be, i.e. loud, self-absorbed dipshits who exist to make sure everybody knows how big and horrifying their penises are. I like to believe modernity has done away with binary gender roles, but just because I believe something doesn't mean it's true. More men need to be like Haggar from Final Fight. That's a may-unn right thur.

There we go, I translated it into English. That's an act of public service right there.
