You have to think of it as a gamble- by recycling the route 1 fodder you get from randoms you are lowering everyone's chance of getting interesting trades. Including your own.

I have put about a hundred Modest Protean Froakies into the mix and got... bugger all out of it. That said, I've got my shiny Greninja so can't exactly complain.

I've had a bit of good luck with it. Got a Chespin with its hidden ability once. Traded that to be a nice guy and got a Haunter in exchange.

Just popping back into the thread to say I got a Skiddo with Pokerus! That was pretty awesome, especially after several trades where I was getting Pidgeys and Scatterbugs after trading starters, fossils, and Gabites. If anyone wants some Pokerus Pokemon let me know!

I had traded out my poor nature hatched Tyrunt and I got a Squirtle on the first trade (the others were Pokemons I haven't got in my Pokedex). After that I also traded my poor nature natched Phantump, Goomy and Gasly and I got decent result mainly one of them had traded me a Ditto! Heck I even got two Vivillion's with different patterns (Japanese and the demo pink pattern).
So yeah overall the Wonder Trade is indeed called Wonder for a reason!

I have been using wonder trade since i beat league and started breeding for Shinies, i have released into the world of wonder trade

i stopped breeding them once i got the shiny version, and wonder traded the non shinies

2 boxes of magikarp

half a box of gollet

3 boxes of charmander

5 boxes of vulpix

1 box of horsea

1 box of scyther

half a box of eevee

half a box of relicanth

half a box of larvesta

3 yvetal 3 xerneas 3 zygarde and 3 mewtwo 1 zapdos 1 moltres 1 articuno



BTW it seems the easiest way to get shinies is masuda method, for those of you who dont know



Use 2 pokemon in daycare from DIFFERANT REGIONS


i use a japenese ditto, get the pokemon i want to get a shiny of, breed it with ditto, if its not from me, i put it away and take the first egg and then breed it with japanese ditto, so its canadaian ??? + japenese ditto= shiny chance of 1/1000

BTW what i recomend, is doing the masuda method, have a talonflame so the eggs hatch faster, and get the HATCHING O-Power, makes stuff alot faster, also for hatching the eggs and getting the eggs, get on your bike, go to the right, press yourself against the top of the bridge, then just use D pad to go left and right, pick up eggs or drop off the hatched ones, there you go

I love the wonder trade but all I get are flabebes and honedges and a lot of jappaneese pichus and pikachus. so far on the wonder trade I sent almost 3 box worth of pokemon that I caught and know I am just catching pokemon in the friend safari and sending them as well. but through the trades I am usually up a night so I get a higher chance of getting pokemon from another region. it really works I got almost 2 box worth of pokemon from different regions mostly from japan and spain. through it I also got 2 scatterbugs from two different regions

Oh yeah I also got 2 japaneese haunters through trade and they weren't holding the everstone so I got 2 japaneese gengars so I am thinking about breeding it with a ditto and try for a shiny gasly but with my luck I will have 5 boxes of gasly and not one a shiny

I'm always looking for rare pokemon in-game to trade later with other people, but I'm still pretty new to the G IV scene.
This is my second day with the game, and having heard so many great things about the Wonder Trade I thought it'd be great to trade with other people so easily. I also thought the trades were balanced, so i offered my shiny Goomy, but got a lvl 1 Oddish. Is it impossible for me to get it back?

I am IV breeding Eevees (hoping for a shiny for a shiny Umbreon), and ones that I don't need go into WT. I've gotten some good mons, like a Dratini with pokerus, a few starters, and pokemon that I haven't found to fill in the dex. Most of the time it's Bunnelby or Fletchlings, so I let those guys go. I've also noticed a new trend in Pikachus littering the WT from time to time...
