I think it would be quicker just to list the things that don't cause cancer.
Sharks, they don't cause cancer, they don't get cancer.

Well that was a long list.

God I hate this stupid bullshit. These rumors have been around forever, it's bullshit. It's even been on Bullshit. Seriously, I don't buy it. It's like the people that say artificial sweeteners cause cancer. I suppose they do....IF YOU DRINK 300 CANS OF POP A DAY!

People over blow stuff and make money off of the fear they induce.
Um ya... just keep telling yourself that the world health organization is full of BS and that they are not reputable. Just don't be surprised about the brain cancer you get because you are constantly on ur cell phone.
Shit sorry. I read the topic and didn't read the content of the post. I apologize for my rash caffeine fueled words.

I use a cell phone, and I probably will end up with cancer at some time. But it's ok, they're going to cure cancer any day now... :p

It's sort of true. They do get Cancer and tumors, but for reasons nobody understands their bodies inhibit the growth of blood vessels to these tumors, so the tumor rapidly dies.

Very, very rarely sharks do develop cancer, but according to the Smithsonian there's less than 15 recorded cancerous tumors in Shark/Shark like fish (compared to tens of thousands in other fish).

How they do it is something medical science has been dry humping itself over for years.

I find people who use their cell-phone too much are the same people who buy things because people say it's cool and that everyone else is doing it, A.K.A. A lost cause.

Hmmm, well it seems like people are constantly claiming everything gives you cancer. That said I don't really use a cell phone that much.

See, people prove this then other groups come out and say it's nonsense! I really don't know what to believe anymore.

All these people who are self obsessed and have to be in constant communication with everyone else are gonna be the ones who in several years will be suffering with different types of brain cancer. I guess its healthy to have fewer friends!
You sound like your almost glad that people may now develop brain cancer.

Oh, so what study did you conduct to prove this? Or are you just making random shit up?

That's fascinating! I love animal oddities like that.

I'll need you to link me to this study so I can read it for myself.

Oh, wait, found it, but it doesn't say how long you need to be exposed in order to develop this 'brain cancer'.

MY question is whether texting has the same effects. I hardly ever use my cell phone, but when I do it's to send a text usually. I guess I'll just have thumb cancer
If we're assuming that the phone needs to be at your ear, no, texting shouldn't cause 'brain' cancer, and I don't think you can get cancer in your thumbs.

...Just don't keep your cellphone in your pocket, comrade.

Soon they'll move onto cars, then computers, then all technological advancements since the dark ages and will have us living in houses made of mud and straw. THEN they'll say it's caused by mud and straw.

I don't usually talk on my cell phone.

Even when I do, it's quick, because I hate talking over them.

When I need to have a conversation with someone, I just text.

Link to source or it didn't happen!

This has been floating about for ages, no-one's managed to prove or disprove it so far. Give it another ten years and we'll all know, by then celphones will have been around long enough to really put some heavy exposure on people.

Although I can see the logical link between putting a microwave powerful enough to transmit into space next to your head and getting brain cancer.

Link isnt particularly helpful as it doesnt have any links to proof..

Two things:
1) If you read the text of the article (which was not sourced), this is information gathered in a survey, not a scientific experiment- it does not offer valid 'proof' of anything. Surveys can suggest correlation and offer a basis upon which to move forward with experimentation, but should never, ever be considered as proving anything, because a) there is no control group, and b) there is no way to be sure of the quality of the data.

2) there is a 100% fatal condition out there that affects 100% of the world's population: it's called 'Life'. Sorry, but we all are gonna die sometime. Make sure you use your limited time wisely.
