Most of us have been there. You pull off something amazing in a game, and get an adrenaline rush, and it feels amazing. Epicness. And you feel real good afterwards.

For example, a recent experience of mine in Bfbc2:

I watch from my heli as my teammate (in separate heli)dukes it out with an enemy heli. I begin to help, firing missiles--one of them hits, but the heli remains. Out of the corner of the screen I spot a Humvee racing across the map. I realize he's heading to my base to nab a heli and help his team. Immediately I focus on him. I fire my missiles, but he swerves out of the way. He nears closer and closer to the fresh helicopter, and I take the shot. 4 missiles race up to meet him. The Humvee explodes in a ball of fire and flips over, the driver and passenger dead. A missile races by me. I swing around to see my teammate explode. The enemy heli turns to face me, and I am hit with a barrage of missiles. With a quarter health left, face to face with the Russian, I gun my engine, setting a collision course with my attacker. I eject, and the choppers collide in a massive explosion, the pieces falling around me. I open my chude and glide to safety. I land behind the flanks of a squad capturing a base. I sneak up and fire my smg, destroying them, firing my pistol; bodies. I am out of ammo, and a squad of re-enforcements is heading my way. I duck into cover behind a boulder. They station themselves around the flag, capturing the command post. I sneak up, and manage to stab four before I am gunned down John Marston style.

Best moment ever.

I finished a BFBC2 game, defending in Rush, with over 5000 points (the person in second was in the low 2000s), mostly through being in the enemy base and running around from cover to cover all twitchy and hopped up on adrenaline. Once I got to 3000ish points all in one life, I had run out of ammo so I ran up and hit a guy with my defib, but somehow the hit didn't register and he knifed me.

I got two storys, so I'll spoiler them.

Well this happened back in the days of Halo 3, me and a friend of mine(Ranks at the time where 38 and 42(me) repectively) we were playing a match of Big Team Battle, Capture The Flag, on valhalla. My team was split in ranks average in comparison to me, but the opposing team was ranks 45-50 all the way through. So we were at a skill disadvantage from the start.

Well after awhile we had the game tied at 2-2(Out of three) and time was running short. Then all of my team decided(Assumedly) **** This, were out. Leaving me, and my friend, versus about 4 generals(People had been leaving both sides throughout the game. No idea why.)

It was hard runnining for me and him, attempting to hold for a tie the generals would come and swamp us, but we'd catch them as we respawned about halfway across the map. Return the flag. Then repeat.

Well apparently that wasn't enough for my friend. Who told me to defend the base while he played Solid Snake inside the enemy base.

Somehow through use of a recently respawned Banshee I struggled to hold off their attempt. As my friend stole their flag and took off to the side of the map to contine to try and stealth his way back to our base with the flag.

I thinking ahead patrolled the opposite side of the map from my friend to attract the enemy team. Good news! It worked, but Bad News! They shot me down...

About this time the enemy team was at our base. Along with my friend who was only a short way away. Dropped the flag on top of a nearby cliff and attempted to shoot the opponents long range while I respawned. Skipping ahead I did, and he had all but cleared the base of two people who were hiding behind a wall from him. But were out in the open for me. So I shot them down and shouted the "All Clear!" after which my friend grabbed the flag. Scored, and won the game.

Both of us were shouting at the tops of our lungs after that. It was a accomplishment in skill and strategy. As well as sheer blind luck.

My next story comes from Halo Reach, on the "Blood Gulch Remake" map: Hemmorage. The gametype was CTF. My team was getting swamped, but somehow holding the fort, the match had been going for a long time and neither side had scored. I had given up hope of winning, but that apparently sent my friend(Same friend) into hero mode. He shouted for me to get onto the smalled vehicle in the game. (A ATV called a "Mongoose") I did explaining that it wouldn't work.

Well we made our way across the map, almost getting shot down/run over by a Warthog(A jeep with a Gatling Gun.) and dodging some stray fire. But nobody seemed to pay attention to us. It was like they thought "Ahh it's just a Mongoose, nothing to be worried about, let someone else get it." except everyone thought everyone else would get it. So nobody got us. We entered their base. Routed out the sole in-base defender(Like I said, my team was getting swamped.) and took the flag.

On the way back the team took more notice of us. But couldn't stop us as we plowed over the hills and between rocks all the way back to the base. We drove around behind our base and hopped off.

Apparently sometime while we were out the enemy team had gotten the flag and moved it to one of the doorways outside our base but not any farther. As I ran over it carrying the enemy flag it returned to it's home-slot. When I came around the corner to that Home Slot(You have to take the opponent flag to your Home Slot to score, and your flag has to be home.) I saw a opponent about to take it. I shouted "NO WAY" and struck him down with the flag.

I like to think I knocked him over and planted the flag(Scoring a point for my team) right into his skull.

About thirty seconds later the game ended and my team won.

I have a video for this one! http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/FileDetails.aspx?fid=7120187&player=OctalLord
I apologize though, it isn't rendered so you'll need a Xbox 360 and a copy of Halo Reach to watch the film...

I commend a fellow BFBC2 player for a god damn crowning moment of awesome there.

Now for one of my own I think.

This was the game winning M-COM cap on my part.

I'm playing as recon, decked out with my standard kit, VSS, extra ammo, magnum ammo, C4 and the M93-R Burst fire pistol.
We'd just taken the second to last base on Atacama Desert and me and my friends in my squad begin our sprint to cap the last set of M-COM stations.
Now, first off, the four of us are desperately trying to avoid fire from light machine guns, sniper rifles, 40mm grenades, you name it, the enemy is using it on us. So we're ducking in and out of cover where we can, nearly coming up to the ramp to the final base. Me and one of my squadies take a detour to the right so we can climb up and sneak through a sand filled warehouse and take Bravo, while the other two, brave bastards, charge head first up the ramp.

I can barely remember what happened to those two, but they must have got the job done because about 20 seconds later I heard the siren of Alpha go nuts, so me and my friend duck into the warehouse while our other two are busy holding off the army knocking down their door, we pop our heads out on the other side of the building and bang, my squadie takes a .50 cal round to the face, but not before spotting him just before he went down.

I pulled out my VSS and tapped my mouse twice, popped him in the head and took him down, climbed out of the building and made my way to Bravo. I reloaded just before turning the corner to the objective and pulled out my M93, ran in, threw down a motion mine and armed the objective. About half the force trying to disarm Alpha (Which had just gone off, bravo to those guys for holding off two whole squads on their own) got diverted to little old me. Luckily my squad mate respawns just as three guys knock down our door, I pull my pistol and unload a clip, taking two of them down while my team mate pops out a 40mm shotgun and wastes the last one.

Another squad quickly follows up behind the one we just downed, guy with a Neostead bursts in and kills my team mate, leaving me alone for the second time. I've got just enough time to pull out my VSS and down the guy with the NS before he gets another shot off, then two more guys run in, I gun down one and claim the other's tags.
Bravo's just about to explode now as the god damn wall gets blown off by an Abrams tank, I'm staring a tank barrel in the face at this stage and I don't have any time to get the hell out, or reload my weapons, so I think "Fuck it" and pull out my C4.

I run like crazy, the secondary gunner was an absolute shit shot and maybe landed two shots on me, I jump onto the front of the tank, run up to the turret position, lay down 3 blocks of C4, jump off the back and blow that *****. Tank goes up in flames, Bravo blows at just about the same time and just as I hit the ground, everyone stops moving as the game wraps up and I notice that there's a guy stood in front of me with an 870 MCS trained at my face.

I felt a smug sense of satisfaction having gunned down 6 guys, taken two people in a tank with me and deprived the poor 870 totting bastard of a kill as we're literally staring at each other.

I felt like an absolute badass after that.

Recently I have been playing the rift Beta and I have to say that after a while roaming around doing quests and grinding for crafting can get boring. So I stop in a small base that has some crafting stuff and I'm ready to shut the game off after I grind out about 50 burlap cloths and buy some supply from the vendor but right when I'm talking to the vendor the sky gets dark and spooky thunder starts to roar everywhere. A rift opens unusually close to the base then another and a third then suddenly before i know it the whole sky is filled with Rifts in to another world doping out level 16-20 elites and the vendor I was talking to runs away closing the window which was a good thing because there was an invasion of about 8 or 15 level 20 elite running at full charge to the base some of the NPC ran ahead to fight them in a desperate attempt to hold them off but were soon zerg rushed and cut down. I bolted and so did everyone else but arrived at the other side of the base only to find a Frigging 50ft golem with about five hundred thousand HP smashing shit! Everyone in the base was fighting for their life and soon a raid was formed out of the random people that didn't get sent to the grave yard (which was in the base by the way) and we all just fought focus firing the damn Golem for about 30mins! We finely managed to take it down. My Soul Vitality was in the negative so my stats were starting to take a hefty percentage decrease but it still wasn't over, even though the Boss was out there were still rifts all over the map and invasions swarming everywhere. I hit the healer up now that it wasn't fighting and spent like 2 more hours just rift hunting ad cleaning up invasions with the raid I was in, only when my bags where full did I realize that I forgot about crafting my new armor. SO I headed back made the armor and shut the game off feeling well.... WOOOOOOOOO!

I have too many smaller moments of awesome to remember one vividly enough.

However, I will describe one I saw in a montage once, though it was not mine, the image is still crystal clear to me.
The game, Halo PC. Map, Sidewinder. Situation: Blue guy 1 has red flag, escaping in a ghost. He is pursued by Red guy 1 who is also in a ghost. Blue guy 2 (which is the guy we are watching this from) is also in a ghost, headed towards Blue guy 1 who is still on the run from Red guy 1. As soon as Blue guy 2 gets near enough Blue guy 1 to give support, Blue guy 1 is shot dead out of his ghost, and the red flag drops. Red guy 1 and Blue guy 2 are at a seemingly equal distance from the dropped flag now. Red guy 1 might return it, he actually has the angle going for him here.

Or so it seems. As red guy 1 speeds up to the flag to do a quick-pickup (in Halo CE, if you rapidly tap the in/out vehicle button, you can touch the flag in an instant and get right back in your vehicle, and it gives a bit of an illusion of never having left the vehicle at all). As soon as Red guy 1 attempts this, Blue guy 2, coming at him almost perpendicularly, rams Red guy 1 and kills him, inches from returning the flag. The way their ghosts hit each other though, is what makes this epic.

Red guy 1's ghost came out a bit ahead of Blue Guy 2's, and at the same instant Red guy 1 died, Blue guy 2 also tried this quick pickup technique to retrieve the red flag. He succeeded at this, and got the flag in an instant, and instead of getting back in his own ghost, hops into the Red guys ghost, which still had momentum going the opposite direction of all the rest of red team.

This happens in all of about 2-3 seconds.

TF2 as a Medic:

I was healing a Demoman on Dustbowl stage 3. Our team had been steamrolled pretty badly up to this point. I switched to the Kritzkrieg for this stage and stuck with the Demo since he was a pretty skilled player. Because we lost so quickly before, we had to hold the enemy for an ungodly amount of time (something like sixteen minutes if I remember correctly).

When the dust (no pun intended) finally settled, the two of us had practically held off the entire enemy team singlehandedly thanks to his stickies and my kritzes. I had something like 82 assists in that round alone. The best part was that neither of us died the entire time.

I had a lot of these moments playing as the submachine gunner in BFBC1. I was one sneaky bastard. I routinely cleared out entire enemy bases without being spotted.

I suck at most online FPS's, though.

I am not normally this good, but for five golden minutes I was INVINCIBLE in Left 4 Dead.

So I'm a Survivor, we're doing the farmhouse finale. We're doing okay holding the top floor until the Tank comes in and splits up the team. One guy is down, then another, then another. I save two of them but then they're down again, killed while I'm dealing with other things. Now it's just me against the horde and four Infected players including the Tank. There's really no way to win at this point but I resolve to sell my life as dearly as possible. I proceed to single-handedly kill the Tank from 75% health without a molly. The other Infected players come around. The shotgun speaks and they die. They respawn and die again. And again. I take down four Smokers, five Hunters, three Boomers, and god knows how many Commons, all by myself. I'm simply untouchable, they can't even get near me. I'm halfway through the second Tank when a lucky Smoker finally escapes my notice. I die but I don't even care.

I got several cheers from both teams. One guy on the other team said he had never seen anyone play any FPS that well, ever.

My best moment in gaming was in a game of League of Legends. By luck I was off to the side while a fight broke out in the jungle area of Summoners Rift. I was playing annie with 4 stacks of pyromania. Three of the opposing team rushed in on two of ours who were just over the wall from me. I hit my molten shield flashed over the wall and dropped tibbers and a incinerate on the three of them netting me 2 kills and with the third stunned. I then proceeded to run through and drop their carry (ashe) with a quick incinerate disintegrate combo. I don't think I've ever had a game turn around that fast as we went from having our inhibitor turret pushed hard to knocking down their nexus with our post fight push.

Beating Bayonetta on Hard.

VICTORY!

Beating Vanquish without dying. Casual Auto mode, but still! That's quite a feat!

right this is pretty recent in Halo Reach:

so, on the 'boneyard' invasion map,the elites had pushed it into sudden death, it was the last round and the elites had taken the core and were heading to the drop zone. They were half way there with 1 guy carrying the core and 3 guys protecting him. i had just emerged from the 3rd floor with a full sniper and full rockets.
so i whipped my sniper out and within 5 seconds two elites were on the floor with gaping holes were their eyes should have been, and i hit the 3rd as he ran for cover. the elite with the core had got into cover as a wraith rounded the corner so i emptied my clip into it and fired a rocket at it, wraith down, the elite had emerged from cover as i got my sniper out and put a bullet in his head.

sudden death over, we win. i was shouting so loud. hehe

Once in Painkiller, in a room that consisted of a big open space with counters on all the sides, I was racing across the room, take a big leap over one of the counters, see an enemy running into exactly the place where I'm going to land, and purely in reflex I blast his head off in mid-air.

I acquired rage, and I said so.

Once, in NHL 11, I was playing online with my friend, and we were down by 2 with 30 seconds left in the game. I went and stood in front of the net, screened the goalie, and it went in, with 10 seconds left. Then, I tipped the puck in the net, with 0.1 seconds left. Then, in the third overtime, my friend scored the winning goal. We went nuts.
