Words you hate

Necessarily, my brain always fumbles this word if I use it in everyday conversation. I can say it now to myself just fine though.

Chivalry is another I dislike.

People who use awesome to describe every experience they have had, it reminds me to be helpful/interesting/detailed when someone asks me something not just say "It was awesome" all the time.

OT: Any slur, really, but I guess that's a little hypocritical to say at the moment since I use 'nigga' (not ******) in my everyday language? I have also been abusing the word '******', recently, but not against anyone except my friends who'll just laugh it off. I mean, we call each other worse things for fun, so I guess what I really mean is any slur that isn't used for non-offensive comedic purposes? I don't know.

I used to use a few slurs, but in recent years (like the past 10 or so), i have done my best to stay away from them all together.

I don't have any words I actually HATE. I get annoyed by the usual YOLO, SWAG and all that. Vocal ticks are interesting to hear. It usually makes talking to people that much more enjoyable.

That being said I don't like "N Word" along with the word ******, which can still be a shitty word to call someone. Granted I don't use ****** regularly in my vocabulary, but when you're on the subject in a class or whatever it is you could be talking about, and it's relevant, just say it. Don't dance around it. When you speak about any other subject you address it directly and clearly. We don't give cute little names to genocides, wars or disasters so why should we give cute little names to hateful words?

Seriously? What makes a person a hipster?! I'm called a hipster at school, a dude wearing glasses/scarf/certain brand of shoes is called a hipster, music you've never heard is apparently labeled as "hipster music", playing video games is hipster? Watching movies midnight release is also considered hipster?
Is hipster the new slang for nerd? Oh wait... everyone calls everyone a hipster, even the people who don't read comics and watch movies are hipsters!
Hipster literally has no clear definition, and the worst part is people throw that word out every 10 seconds without knowing what it means.... its become nails on a chalkboard to me.

Homophobia. This word drives me nuts.

Guys, homosexuality has no monopoly on the prefix "homo." Homo means "the same." Phobia refers to an irrational, yet compulsive, fear of something. Therefore, homophobia would mean you're compulsively afraid of things that are the same, either to each other or to you, depending on what usage you prefer. Therefore, you either get the heebie-jeebies from seeing identical twins or your own reflection. If we're talking about being bigoted against homosexuals, can't we at least think of a word that doesn't butcher its root words?

There's no way homossexualphobia or gayphobia would catch on. Lesbophobia I can see.

Edit: I dislike when people sugarcoat their slurs with euphemisms and other shit. For example, the N-word, F-bomb. I've heard a guy replace fuck with "fetch"!

Scunted, i know what it means but there is never an apropriate use for it.
