Ok, so it's christmas eve and I am stuck here at bloody work. I work at a cinema and it's completely dead. So pointless being here and I'm really bored so I thought I'd ask if anyone else out there is in the same situation

Fortunately not, although that's purely because my shift doesn't fall on Christmas Eve. I was going to have to work Boxing Day but got out of that one. I am having to work New Years Day though, so no partying for me (I work really early in the morning: 4:30am so can't really stay up, or drink anyway).

People who go to cinemas on Christmas Eve have absolutely no life what so ever.
What? No seriously... What the hell are you smoking? I think having plans of going to the cinema pretty much fulfills the arbitrary conditions that people on the internet constitute as 'a life'.

As long as they don't go on their own.

I have to work today, but I only have to work half the day.
Though I will probably actually be there all day.

I had my job on xmas eve this year. It was my last day so there was a big assembly at the end of the day. Tomorrow I have to go to my child's work cause they are shooting for the spring catalogue and decided to do it on xmas.

I worked a 12 hour shift last night, I'm working a 12 hour shift tonight, I work an 8 hour shift Christmas Eve, a 12 hour shift Christmas Day, a 12 hour shift the day after, and another 8 hour shift the day after that. These are all graveyard shifts as well mind you.

I feel... your pain.

I'm in the office. It's as busy as any other day but I only have a fifth of my team in to do the work, and even then no ones really that bothered.

I'll be working at my cinema from 1030 to 6 today, then 1230 to midnight tomorrow on Christmas, so yeah, I know how you feel.

I wouldn't be scheduled to work today, but they did ask me if I wanted any overtime. To which I promptly said 'No', they asked me to work New Year's Eve as well, to which I also said 'No'

EDIT:Woo 700th post

I work in a restaurant. Start work at 4pm, finish around 11pm, but that's because we close early tonight. I fully expect to finish later, because once we've shut the store we'll probably have a few beers, while waving at the customers trying to get food. Anyone that works with the general public will know how good that feels. We're a 24/7 diner, so it'll be the one time a year we EVER shut, making revenge all the sweeter.

Working both New Years Eve, and New Years Day, but arranged shifts so that I can still go out and get wasted. Got Boxing Day off by yelling a lot.
