I will go first :

-Because when you go to the toilet, and as you open up the door in to the toilet, you are not sure if you should breath with my nose or mouth.

-As you have entered the toilet and sit down....the toilet seat is still warm. Yes, thats someone ass you are feeling.

-The last person didn't use the toilet brush.

Ok...now you go!

To take this thread in a serious direction, I could never work in an office. I'm a driver, taking the drop in social stature with it, because I know I would go postal being cooped up in the same four walls everyday, surrounded by the same shallow people.

So, Working in an office environment is not cool because...it would drive me insane.

Where groups of people stand around criticizing another person behind their backs, but when that person approaches, they act as though they are best friends. That happens quite a lot where I work, and it irritates me no end.

Idunnno. I have never worked in an office, nor talked with a person who does. I imagine I wouldn't like it. I connect it with tedious work, and I need some variation.

Because there's nothing more annoying than trying to work in an open-plan office whilst listening to whatever the person next to you is saying, or smelling their pungent bodily odours/lunch. I'd be ok with working in an office if I could get my own room or smallish room with just a few people.

Up until recently I did work in an office. The only thing awesome about being one of only like five women in the company (which is still higher than I'm used too) is that I basically had a private, spotless perfect bathroom. Except for the cockroaches that would appear at night. Oh, and that one coworker who would occasionally be in the stall before I went in the restroom and still in there when I left. D:

...who uses the toilet brush after every...well...use of the toilet?

OT: Ironic. I'm sitting in the office, "working," right now.

- They've had the same Christmas music looping all day long.

- Er, I have to wear starchy shirts whenever I come in here?

I don't really have a problem being here 8 hours of the day. They keep the air conditioning going, so I guess I could say that working in my office environment is "cool."

Working in an office is not cool because of all the moaning. "It's too hot." "It's too cold." "Who nicked my milk?" "This place is shite." For God's sake if the place wasn't bad enough at times without the constant complaining over every little thing.

And yes I am fully aware I've just made a post moaning about moaning, no need to point it out :p

Oh so many times this. I tend to keep quiet in my office as I can't be bothered getting involved in all that.

Heh, I used to think that working in an office was miserable but then we switched to 90% mobile working and I honestly miss the people (even the ones I hated). The flexibility is awesome, but I don't think we're meant to not have more face-to-face time: I think my group has all gone a little insane from 3 years of it, TBH.

But to stay on topic: working on an office is not cool when your coworker sets off the fire alarm by burning their lunch at the exact moment that you're about to start a phone presentation.

My office was rather cool, in all. The interior was decorated to look vaguely nautical. I could pretend I was working in the accounts department aboard a starship. Or a futuristic thought police headquarters, all those people I dug out telephone numbers for were actually being taken in for questioning downstairs. It passed the time alright.

What wasn't cool was getting my sleaves caught on door knobs all the time. And it was terribly uncool that one time I tripped over a bail of printing paper and bruised my elbows. I narrowly avoided dipping my tie in the document shredded, too. That would've been a dreadfully embarassing crime scene.

Working in an office is not cool because: it's so fucking boring! I've worked in offices and it's just not for me. Typing sounds and ringing phones over the sound of a bad radio station. No, it sucks chunks.

Working in an office is not cool because you are an "Office Wanker" office wankers are usually higher paid than you average joe and do a lot less work. Im an engineer and at my work the office staff always seem to be doing nothing while we work. Theres loads of them too and they all have one specific task

Protip: If you're assigned something entirely unknown and alien to your skillset, don't fucking ask someone "Can you do this for me?" Instead ask "Can you show me how to do this?" and take copious notes.

Oh right, and since it is the season, it's not cool working in an office because of the asshole who comes into work while sick, claiming they're saving up their PTO for a cruise later in the year. Thanks for that, and thanks for sneezing without covering your mouth. Did you know a sneeze can travel up to 100 MPH in still air? Lovely.

FUCKING THIS!

Working in an office is not cool because if one person gets sick then EVERYONE gets sick. I sit directly under an air conditioning vent and as soon as I hear someone coughing/spluttering or sneezing I know its only a matter of time before their germs are showering me at my desk. Furthermore, when you're sick, YOU FUCKING STAY AT HOME. Ive had more colds this year from inconsiderate assholes who stay at work while they're contagious than I care to imagine.

Working in an office environment is not cool because I get enough desk sitting at home. Working towards getting a highly physical outdoor job myself, since that's what I prefer.

Got no office working experience myself, but my mom has worked in one for over thirty years. Usually hear complaints about having too much work, however lately it's all focused around them being outsourced by Indians who make their job even harder because they got literally no fucking clue what they are doing.
So that's not cool either.

I dunno. I actually like my office job. My only real complaint about it is long stretches where I have nothing official to do, but then I can fuck around on the internet to amuse myself.

And if you spend too long in the loo one of your coworkers will get revenge by taking a dump in your office chair.

Working in an office is not cool because you are not these guys:
having fun day in and day out in-between shifts or working as a cgi artist ;)

Working in a large office for a faceless corporation means that someone always deliberately blocks the toilets and then craps all over them because they hate working there.

Also all those personal development evaluation crap that we had to do, and team competition plans that everyone had to take part in to streamline and improve your work jobs. There were so many of those that by the time you finished one the next was starting.

Although if the weather's bad then working outside sucks as well.
