Just recently I got WaW packaged with some computer hardware. "Cool gift," I thought, remembering that bit about there being Nazi Zombies to kill in it. I install it, start it up, and try to find a server. First I realized that, when I saw no servers, (not just for Nazi Zombies, co-op was also barren) that I probably needed to patch it (because the disc obviously was so old as to not have ANY patches).

Once I'd patched it, I booted up again, and low and behold: absolutely bloody nobody was playing. This makes me wonder if everybody's busy with multiplayer, of if absolutely nobody on the internet owns this game. Your input?

Well, it's probably becasue WaW loses it's cool after only so long, Modern Warfare is where msot people are playing, you should have gotten it when it first came out, sorry to say this but: wasted your money.

Well, luckily it came packaged free with a graphics card I just got, so it's not like I'm out fifty bucks.

Not dead yet! I am a necromancer of questionable moral quality! Most people probably realized that WAW was a half baked rip off of COD4 with downgraded weapons, and went back to playing 4.

I haven't gotten it for the computer, and I got bored with the 360 version, though the 360 version still has tons of players. My theory is that most people bought the game for the 360 over the computer version

There were a few co-op and nazi zombie matches when I checked yesterday.

P.S. Just out of curiosity, what kind of graphics card did you get?

Thank you, good reviver of the dead!

I had figured that that's basically what happened, but really; there were only 25 co-op/nazi zombie servers today, in the whole world!! Coincidentally, the ONE I was able to find was full of jerks.

To TMAN: a second 9800 GTX+

Well, W@W mostly is just a reskinned CoD4, so I'm guessing people went back to the latter after breezing through the former.

Cool, how well does the game run with that setup?

I got a Radeon HD 4870 (512mb).
I see you take gaming seriously; the 4870 isn't super-expensive but neither is it a pushover.

The game runs smoother than silk drenched in melted butter with SLI; my only gripe is the water artifacts when any AA is enabled.

I'm not sure about the PC version, but if you can get a Nazi Zombies party with a friend, WaW is redeemed in my eyes. Nazis should be its own game... I'd buy it.

The little that I played, pricks not-withstanding, makes me wish that there were actually people to play it with.

If you do buy it, you'll have to tell me when you're on so we can zombie it up!

Yea, I couldn't help but go a bit overboard when I built this rig.

The 4870 runs it great with max settings.

Whats the specs on your rig?

I got it free with my GTX260. And yeah, there are barely any co-op games. There are plenty of competitive multiplayer servers up, though.

Graphics: (2) 9800 GTX+'s in SLI, stock clocks
Processor: Core i7 920, stock clock
RAM: 6 gigs DDR3, stock clocks

(Most of this is due to a recent-less than a month ago-overhaul; before I only had 1 GTX+, a dual-core @ 3.0, and 4 gigs of RAM on XP 32-bit, so effectively 3.5)

You?

I got a copy of WaW with my new graphics card too (the GTX 260)! Of course I haven't even touched it since I already played WaW on my xbox. And there are still plenty of people playing on xbox.

Darn, sound like I missed the co-op party. Shame, really; that seemed like a pretty cool idea and I would've liked to have gotten in on the action.

It helps if you search for an internet server and not a local server.

This is something that has been like this since CoD1. They made "local" the default multiplayer search.

I'm pretty sure I had it on Internet... Let me check

EDIT:Yep, definitely on internet; even cycled through them to make sure.
