Because it's still good and Blizzard isn't fucking us over. Also the graphics are still good and are updated with every expansion. Plus the updates enrich the experience.

Because *shocking revelation ahead!* they think it's fun? Or they are addicted? Who are we to judge? Personally I like the graphics in the game, and the updates with new areas is the only thing that causes me to buy another subscription after a new release, just to see the new areas they put in. Some very good looking places me thinks =p. Cool terrain ^^.

It's easy, and more and more patches are becoming more focused on newer players so people play it, like it, make friends on it and stay on it because of their friends. (I'm not sure if the newest patches are newb friendly though, back when I still played they were)
Also it is one of the only MMOs that has a decent amount of people on, other MMOs have few new players (As they go to WoW instead and either stay on WoW or leave the entire genre because they dislike WoW) and won't get people leaving their WoW friends so their population stays low and gets lower over time.

Says the guy with eve online avatar, you obviously have no clue, and yes i truely despise wow aswell after having played it.
Firstly the Graphics were updated substantially between each expansion, so you're wrong and fail at that point.
Secondly they are more catering to every need of the casual pvp nerd, kind of like the pvp people on eve online.
And catering to the daily grind, rep grind nerds who stay inside all day gathering 50x the same item to trade it for a pet or some nonsense.
they screw me over however because the only part i cared about was raiding and instancing making them some achievement fests with the difficulty of tic-tac-toe. Why would they bother adding 10 ways to defeat the same boss its just sad. ofc the easyway is the only way to bother with most times.
Also making all class adequate at any task becauz ze arena teams mustz be EVEN DUURUrRRRrH and making my class obsolete and shitty cause booohooo feral druids and pallys and deathknights are all the whiners who play. (warrior maintank = piece of crap)

wow graphics is good and a little bad. The complete stylish approach makes it nearly timeless, but it also takes a brief initial time of getting-used-to. I remember it being bit weird at release but got used to it after a few days. When I had not played it for 2+ years and played it again it seemed very fugly, but then a week after it looked fine again.
