World's Opinion on Canadians. What do you, the People Think of us?

I?ve recently seen a lot of post regarding the world?s opinions on Americans and though these have proved very enlightening I would like to hear of my home country for once. I have heard that Canadians are most loved most hated and everything in between. What does the population of the Escapist have to say on this question?

Why would you do this?

As a Canadian myself, I am also curious ... sorta. I know that whatever the opinions may be, I just hope they are well informed, maybe even teach me something.

If I had to make a guess though, I would bet that on the world stage we are seen as the US's tag along, in so much that its only shocking if it appears we are not supporting their every whim, such as with Iraq but really we were by way of guarding naval supply lines.

I would hope that the federal election we are going through could change that but if the recent past is anything to go by, it probably wouldn't make too great a difference which party held the ministerial offices, they all seem to toe the line regardless, selling out our resources to the US interests, such as the Security & Prosperity Partnership (SPP), North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and North American Treaty Organisation (NATO).

I like a good number of Canadians, just as I like a good number of Americans. Admittedly, the ones in the former tend to be very aware that they're perched over the burning flame of EBIL INCARNATE and the ones in the latter category tend to want to head north to escape the heat.

You have cool animals, good weather, good comedy, and a sense of realism. Besides, croissants and fancy food for the win.
