i wonder which one this game will melt first, my xbox or pc?
Probably both but not from the act of playing the game itself but simply by the act of putting the disk on the tray.

OT: Well, anyone have $2000 dollars they can lend me?[footnote]by lend I mean give[/footnote] My computer had a hard time even looking at that short video. I shudder to think what the game would do to my hunk of junk.

It looks water-downed for the consoles, and I don't like the looks of the shotgun, but it reminds me of Mirrors Edge, so I'll buy it. Just to be a douche, I'm gonna point out that I wont need to upgrade my computer.
Me too. Because I'll buy it for 360.
Enjoy having half the graphical quality that I'll be seeing. :D
Enjoy missing the point of video games.
Enjoy skipping over replies to posts that pertain to what you intend to say. Or, enjoy being completely oblivious.

Either works.
I replied to what I saw. I did not skip anything. I read the topic, then read replies on the first page. The forums are not going to wait for me to read every single post before I reply to anything.
See, that's a problem with your attitude right there. These forums damn sure better wait for me.
I dont exactly exert a kind attitude around pc/graphic snobs.
Well I definitely prefer the PC over consoles, but I don't think that qualifies me as a snob, just somebody who has more money to spend on my habit. I do have a 360 as well, after all. As far as graphics go, since you seem to be too lazy to go read the reply I referenced, here it is:

Graphics are far from everything for me, but I certainly don't mind looking at superior graphics while having improved gameplay thanks to a keyboard/mouse interface as well. I have a 360 and a PC, but my 360 hasn't been getting much attention since I built my new rig.
All of my favorite games are way outdated as far as graphics go, but when it comes to games like Crysis, the whole point is to test your graphics/processing power essentially.
Oh I did go back and read it. It only enforced my view of you as a pc snob.

I don't get how anyone could get excited about this game. The graphics look kinda pretty, I guess, but the gameplay looks extremely bland to me. The story, music and character design don't appear very interesting either.

And this is the console version...i can only imagine what the pc looks like..
There will be a note accusing you of being a pirate instead of a dvd in the box if their attitude is anything to go by. Seeing how the 10 million computers that could run it the first time supposedly pirated it 60 million time between them.

Also:
lawl @ everybody here who believes that the actual console version will look even remotely as good as shown here. Procedural destruction isn't even supported(as in: a nes doesn't support cd's) by console hardware.

now that the crysis series has gone multiplat, does PC gaming have anything worthwhile left?
Star Wars: The Old Republic by Bioware seems like it will be a good piece of worthwhile PC Gaming.

The gameplay for Crysis 2 looks nice with the good graphics but graphics are not that big of a deal to me. I will most likely rent it for my x-box 360 mostly because I don't want to waste $60.00 on a PC game that I might end up disliking.

Bah! I'm neutral, love shooters on consoles and my trusty PC, and I never use auto aim unless it's forced on me like GTA4

Actually, if people would just practice a little, they'd find the sticks are quite good for shooters, especially where platforming is involved.

Either way, my current rig plays Crysis just dandy (though FSAA seems to be an ATI weakness). I'd love to build a system and play this on my TV. I mean, I paid for the damned thing, and I'd love to really see some true 1080p on it sometime.
Every console shooter (that wants to be successful) has some sort of background automatic aiming scheme. Its never been as obvious as your crosshair snapping to the targets and turning bright red (half-life's auto-aim), but its always there. Then, when it isn't, people ***** about the controls being stiff/shitty (killzone 2).
On the contrary, I don't think most of the games I've played going back to the single stick Perfect Dark Had any auto-aim once switched off. I usually only use a dot for a cross-hair when possible, and I'm almost as good with that as I am with a mouse (mouse is not surpassed by anything I'm aware of). I detest auto aim, and have made a point to avoid a few games because of it. Tat said, some games like to play with statistics, so when I tried Fallout 3 on the PC imagine my annoyance when I have a mutant cold at about ten paces and my bullets appear to be afraid of it.

A color changing cross-hair isn't auto aim, but I actually hate those too. I hate anything that takes a modicum of control away. I don't agree with you though, not all console games that want to be successful will/should have auto aim. Good controls/weapons and things that are fun to shoot at seem to make for a good formula.

... Eh. I don't give two shits about the graphics, and their gameplay changes sound... minimal.

Awwwww, no more jungle? (And don't give me that 'urban/concrete jungle' argument!)
The ability to customize the suit is mildly intriguing, but a big part of what made me actually buy the first game was its absolutely stunning tropical island environment. While I agree that this looks very polished and realistic, too, the feeling has moved right into the 'generic urban warfare' setting, and I've really had enough of those over the past few years.
