World's worst protagonists.

Ethan Thomas in Condemned 2 ! In the first one he was ok but in the 2nd all he does is swear, drink and fight dirty, break peoples neck and snap their arms. He's also an asshole.

Desmond Miles. No question asked. He really fucking gets to me. You may argue that altiar or ezio are the protaganist from the asscreed trilogy but your playing as desmond miles who is playing altiar and ezio.

Hoo boy. In no particular order...
1. Any silent protagonist. I'm sure this has been said before. SPs made sense in the days of point/click adventures and text-based games, since the person you were playing had no face, and you never saw any body parts (hands, for e.g.), and they were actually supposed to be the player. This is especially annoying for third-person games.
2. Alex Mercer from Prototype. If I need to explain this one, I'm gonna go nuts. He does get a little better as the story goes, though. A little. Kinda. In cutscenes, at least.
3. Dante form the Devil May Cry series. He's just a smug asshole. Okay, he's amazingly badass, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't want that coat, but he's still a smug asshole. And his pistols suck.
Also, Trish, for much the same reason. Lady's a little better.
4. Rubi from Wet. The only thing likeable about this character is... is her... ... I'll have to get back to you on this one.

The duo of Frank and "The Maw" from the XBL title "The Maw". How am I supposed to feel for this little guy? I mean, sure he looks cute and innocent, but just going by the facts of in-game play? He feeds dozens of living beings WHOLE to the little sharp-toothed blob-creature he escaped with from... jail? ...space-zoo? ...*shrugs* I dunno... Feeding and feeding sentient beings one after another to this little monster, all the while watching it grow, until in the end "Maw" eats the entire planet. The whole freaking planet. Presumably millions, maybe billions of lives snuffed out, most of which had jack to do with either of the two escapees...
Not really sympathetic to their plight...

-Kratos in God of War 3. Notice what happened every time he killed a god? The world got fucked over more and more. Screw destabilizing some random island region, Kratos's little rampage destabilized the entire PLANET.
-About 50% of people who play Magicka. If you spared ANYONE in the dining hall after the tutorial, you're a kinder man than me. For some reason, the ability to kill NPC's is way too tempting.
-Every protagonist who foolishly gives the bad-guys everything they need to destroy/take over the world, and are only heroes afterwards because they end up cleaning up their own mess. Shujinko and Lara Croft (the movie one) come to mind. Crash Bandicoot did this once, too.
