I love the Worms series. It's a pity this one isn't being developed for consoles. Running a PC (and especially Windows) just for games is such a PITA. I work with PCs all day - the last thing I want to do when I get home to relax is deal with PCs.

When I see good DLC, I am happy the developers love the product so much they were willing to keep making content for it, it's nice to see so many goodies that are still being released after a game is out, but with modding....it sometimes feels they just kinda let the fans work on the game, giving people the tools and riding the praise wave, don't get me wrong it can of course be done right, but to put so much work into something, and then splay it out so everyone can pick it apart and do what they want with it, doesn't sound like they have the greatest amount of pride in their work.

It's a sound idea, but not every game is gonna have a large modding community or be easy to make new content for. Besides, most mods are very short and low-budget and not always great in terms of design, as opposed to official DLC where the company making it has all the assets and budget and actors and professional game designers and everyone else on hand. And modding is borderline impossible on consoles without getting disconnected and bricked, so DLC is the only option there.

Hell, even if they ARE putting out DLC they should still put out mod support. It's just the right thing to do.

I approve of their philosophy.

I'm just annoyed that Team17 seem to release a new version of Worms before I feel like I have played enough of the old game.
I mean I haven't even touched the current game and already plans for the next has been announced...

It would be fine if it didn't feel like 'the next game is the next game to play because everyone else is doing it'. I'm getting COD syndrome.

Say the same guys, that make a season pass for Worms Revolution, that costs exactly as much as the full game.
By the looks of it they've had a change of heart, that was their first foray into DLC and it seems that it may be their last.

DLC can be expansion packs.

The distinction is entirely in people's perception -- just because most DLC has been tiny, mostly pointless, bits o' junk dropped into the game world, that doesn't mean it can't be things such as huge new campaigns in entirely new settings - the term: "DownLoadable Content" is pretty agnostic to just what- and how extensive that content is - the idea that it can only be window dressing, is just something that people have gotten into their heads.

Good old Team 17. they been around for now long now ?! they must be doing everything right ^.^ TEAM 17 we lurb youz
what part of greed you can get away with dont you understand?
what used to be patches we now call DLC. what used to be DLC we now call expansions and what used to be expansions we now call sequels. its always good to rename things to make them cost more.

Got Revolution a few months ago and it restored my faith in the series after a slew of half-assed rehashes or well-intentioned foul-ups. My only gripe was the absence of a few staple inclusions (no 'stiff upper lip'? Come on guys!) so the workshop is great news. I cannot wait.

Glad to see T17 has got its thinking cap on once again.

edit: and if they can tighten up some of the glitches, that'd be great. But then again, glitches are practically part of the Worms experience :D
