I know what you mean. The achievements on Guitar Hero/Rock Band games are actually Achievements and act to the fact its just a game but Prince of Persia easy? I think not. You have to spend about 6-7 Pounds to buy the epilogue to get all the trophies and collecting all those light Seeds was one of the worst longetivity scams ever.
You don't need to buy the epilogue to get the platinum trophy despite the trophies existing even if you don't have the epilogue.

And yes, Prince of Persia was very, very easy. In fact, it was the first platinum trophy I've gotten... all but a smattering of bronze trophies I didn't just get from playing my first time through. In fact, I received the game on Saturday, beat the game on Friday (unlocked Speed Demon and Go Easy on Her), got all of the light seeds on Monday and did all of the combos (the only hard part of it all) on Tuesday, yesterday, the day I returned it.

The light seed stuff was very fun for me for some reason. The 'hard' ones were like mini-puzzles mixed with some timed button presses.

Edit: Resident Evil 5 seems to have a similar set up where you don't need all of the available trophies to unlock the platinum. I'm unsure if it's DLC or something else.

My pet peeve is multiplayer achievements. I'm fine with ones like "kill this number of people" but when you get "kill this number of people using a toothpick while riding an elephant and singing "Auld Lang Syne" it's detrimental to the whole online system.
It's not fair that your team gets screwed over just because half of them are still trying to get a particular retarded achievement or trophy.

The main ones I hate are either hidden ones or ones that require you to spend a ridiculous amount of time on online team deathmatches to get a certain number of kills.

*cough* Resistance 2 *cough*

:D

Flower for the PS3 has a couple of strange ones.

"Healthy Play" pause the game for 10 minutes, "Memories" after you complete a level wait 3 minutes before you return to the main menu, and "Welcome Back" play the game after a week long break. Needless to say I have these (all by accident actually), and they should be stupid, but Flower is such a laid back game they don't feel out of place.

As a side note I found a secret cave in one level with glowing creatures on the walls and got the Trophy "flOw". That made me smile.

'let sleeping rockstars lie' from GTA4. you have to kill one of the game developers online, and the chances of doing that are minimal

Also Hidden achievements are retarded.
Not so. I remember laughing out loud when I accidentally stumbled across the 'Irony' Achievement in Bioshock.

As for me, I would have to say the endgame achievements in Fable 2, of which you get 1 for each alternate ending.

No-one in their right mind would choose anything other than 'The Needs of the Few'. Seriously.

It's a uh.. what's the word? You can get the achievement by killing someone else who has the achievement. Nowadays, it'll only take you a few hours to get it, probably.

Those ones you get for beating a level. I'll take the ones for beating the game but not the levels. Thats just dumb.
Never understood this, achievements acting like check marks of progress seems to make enough sense to me. Achievements that require you to beat one of the designers of the game, its just a little stupid.

Also Hidden achievements are retarded.
Hidden achievements are the only ones that make any sense... The others are the retarded ones because you don't have to work for them.

I'll go with Mass Effect's completionist achievement... Seriously? They want us to go over the game fully 4 times, completing EVERYTHING each time?
This.

Very stupid.

I think it goes to CoD:WaW. There is a Purple Heart Achievment for dying a certain amount of times. It's like saying, aww you suck... have an achievment poor guy... I sadly, do not have this achievment.
I had to repeatedly throw myself in front of machine-gun fire or I would probably never have got this. XD

You must have alot of Trophies then. You must have quite a few platinums :p. But thanks for educating me about that. I may just go and get them myself because the Epilogue ones are annoying. My first platinum was Lotr Conquest. Still very happy with that. Also got Resi 5 and Infamous Platinums

the prestige achievement in world at war, you don't get any points for it anyways, it's just Treyarch saying "we appreciate it, but not really".

Also I forgot the exact title, but on Rainbow Six Vegas 2, there's one that can only be unlocked if you have the webcam attachment...as a matter of fact, most RSV2 achievements are ridiculous, a lot of them require some high rank that would take forever, not worth it.

Multiplayer achievements. I get the ones playing each mode on each map types but playing a million match crap has got to go.

And collectible achievements. Give me some points for finding a reasonable number but when those numbers start reaching the thousands we have a problem.
