Hate D-gray, inuyasha, naruto, bleach, one piece, haruhi season 2 never ending cycle... I probably have a lot longer list, however i usually quit watching after the first 2 episodes if i really hate an anime.

And K-On.....shouldn't haft to explain this one.

As for Maria Holic im interested in it simply because it supposedly makes fun of Yuri Anime.

Samurai Deeper (Kyo).. By far the worse ever Anime... Not even related to book, except the characters names. Fight scenes skimmed changed, and forwarded into weird gay stuff.

as a massive fan of the manga, i sadly heard about how the anime was terrible.

i wish it wouldve been as good as something like Naruto, because the manga was good enough to deserve it.


OT: Rosario Vampire X. not only is it disgustingly perverted, the plot has more holes than a swiss cheese in a war zone and its not even funny. i watched about 5-7 episodes until i went back to Lucky Star.

I'm kind of surprised that in 10 pages no one has mentioned Pretear. That was the most godawful thing I have ever been forced to watch. A magical girl reverse harem transformation fest where a 13 year old girl who looks like she's ten "combines" with one of five different high school or older aged guys in order to fight some ***** bent on destroying the world because she got her heart broken. Oh, and I forgot to mention that said little girl falls in love with the leader of the guys, who is a total dick to her at all times because he's afraid of falling in love again. I absolutely hate that show, and recommend that everyone who gets ahold of a copy burn it immediately.

Yes, you should.

It's basically softcore hentai put in anime form with the premise that it's intended to raise interest to purchase products like action figures and models.

It's actually a fairly common concept in some rings of the anime industry, but when it's taken to an extreme what you get is a generic story with poor writing.

It's not good because it doesn't even have the ambition to be good. It's a paycheck.

Isn't that pretty much how Transformers work?

Cowboy Beebop's name isn't that strange when you actually appreciate the root source. Of course it'll just sound silly otherwise.

And no, it's not hard to hate Elfen Lied. As I said elsewhere it's a serious anime that is based off a satirical manga. The reason some things are just so outlandishly out of place is because of that.

Burst Angel, starring stereotype badass girl who always goes and rescues some girl who gets kidnapped in every single episode. If there is a plot I must have missed it because in just about every episode Girl 2 gets kidnapped and Girl 1 goes and rescues her while literally killing everything in sight. Meanwhile Girl 3 sits around simply for the purpose of fan service, Girl 4 won't shut the hell up, and the one boy in the group just kinda hangs around occaisionally getting kidnapped. Fun times, except not.

There must have been a serious misunderstanding somewhere, because the Elfen Lied manga I saw was pretty similar in tone to the anime...
I mean, hell, down to (Spoilers) implied child rape, dismemberment and a character breaking slowly down into a puddle of organs.

I have watched a lot of anime that is kind of lame and stupid, but I carried on watching because sometimes that's all you need.

There aren't many series that I have actually stopped watching because it was so bad. One of the was High School of the Dead. I liked it, but the huge amount of fan service just put me off after a few episodes. The other is Sekerei, which was boring, generic and filled with ridiculous amounts of fan service. I've watched some ecchi anime before, but these two were particularly bad.

Going on the premise of "no redeeming qualities whatsoever" rather than personal dislike, my immediate reaction is to choose Ko-n, but I can see how someone would like that (think Azumanga Daioh with musical instruments), so I have to choose Ah My Buddha (not to be confused with Ah My Goddess, which is a wonderful series). Think if Sesshomaru from Inuyasha was in modern times, a high schooler, had a side gig as a ghostbuster, and was surrounded by a stock harem.

Right. The manga is a satire on super serious crap that's aiming to be "deep" or something. In another sense you might call it a deconstruction I guess? Maybe I'm giving it too much credit.

At any rate the anime just doesn't know how to deliver that, and aside from screwing up to core plot line has this general problem of trying to write a plot line that follows a manga that wasn't even finished at that point. Instead of a proper ending we're treated to loose ends and an anime that falls fare short of it's potential.

It tries to take itself too serious to properly be a satire on the genre as a whole, and takes itself too lightly at times (the entire. fucking. Nyu. Character) to really be taken seriously. Instead of trying to be oil or water it wants to be both, and that doesn't work.

Y'know, with the number of times this 4kids thing has been mentioned, I'm glad I only ever watch subs. And is it me or are there like only three dub voice artists out there?! Because the same names pop up everywhere.

Oddly I have gone to cons and met many of the voice actors out of the funimation Dallas area and it's a small community.
