Figures I click this thread and see that people didn't like Gantz ten minutes AFTER spending twenty bucks on the first book. I swear to God...
OT: Naruto, Peach Girl, One Piece. I can't remember the rest of them, but I--
Death Note. There, I said it. It's not the worst (that spot's reserved for One Piece) but I didn't like the manga or the anime and I have no idea why. Just couldn't get into it. I'm tempted to read the novels out of curiousity but that's it.
Worst anime . . . Fruit's Basket. The manga was far superior. Love Hina was a lot worse then the manga too. I kinda like romances. Wanna fight about it?
Fight about it? I want to shake your hand. Fruits Basket was my first manga, and is still my absolute favorite. The only good things to come out of the anime adaptation were the music (sue me, I love Ritsuko Okazaki's work, rest her soul) and a surprisingly good reinterpretation of
the reveal of Kyo's true form. It didn't make as much sense as the manga, but I felt it was actually animated and emoted well enough to make up for that.
Can't comment on Love Hina, though. I read most of the manga some years ago, but I don't think I've seen any of the anime outside some AMVs.
Eh. I wasn't entirely sold on the manga, to tell the truth. I might finish it soon, but only out of morbid curiosity...and loyalty to Ken Akamatsu, for the unrestrained awesome that is Negima.
Yes. Negima! is much better then Love Hina although I do love Keitaro. I need to re watch Negima! because I didn't get to watch all of it and I can't exactly read the manga cuz I'm broke and my library fine is through the roof LOL
Any of the serious stuff I've seen. I'm sorry, I just can't take you seriously if you're wearing an orange jumpsuit and look like you took a Siamese kitten, put a yellow wig on it, and stapled it's face onto yours.
The only good Anime shows I've seen are Dragon Ball and Afro Samurai (which was a little too serious, but it was too awesome to not like it).
Originally it was Bleach (My sword is better than yours!!) but I have discovered something worse. The Adventures of *grumble* Milk-chan. God, typing that name made me have chills.
I'm guessing that many of the people posting to this thread have only seen one or two anime in their lives. That's the only reasonable explanation for things such as Full Metal Alchemist being posted here.
Even anime that I don't particularly enjoy such as InuYasha aren't anywhere near the worst that I've ever seen.
I'll say Colorful is the worst that I've ever seen. There's not really any plot besides catching pantyshots on unsuspecting women and that's no exaggeration for many episodes.

Sweet! Just remember, the tone of the manga starts changing at the third volume, and really comes into its own starting with the fourth (with the three-volume Kyoto arc). Negima's take on harem comedy overshadows Love Hina by a fair margin, and it never loses that aspect entirely, but Akamatsu was clearly out to make a shounen action manga. I'm of the opinion that he succeeds admirably and more...and I've seen some people almost driven away by the first two volumes.
Granted, he could certainly cut back on the fanservice (though a lot of it's actually pretty funny), but for some reason his doesn't annoy me as much as in, say...Ai Yori Aoshi, another of my favorites.
As for Genshiken, I've only seen the OVA so far (showed them at a con, actually), and haven't even touched the manga. I think I'll look into it at some point. That first OVA episode demands no less.
Serial experiment Lain was just fucked up on a level I have yet to reach and I'm way up there. Not bad, not good, not even average just something of its own. This line pretty much made the show for me, "If you aren't remembered, then you never existed"
