I have just watched a video that made feel sorry for the lady driving the car, but had in me in stitches also, this video was taken after 20 minutes of the women attempting to park her car.

For disscusion, have you witnessed any stupid/bad drivers attempting to park, Uturn? Or maybe even a 3 point turning ending up being a 10+ turn?

I can't believe someone wouldn't just give up after 5 minutes of trying and just find another spot.

Hahahaha!

She's worse than I am!

And trust me, I'm a horrible parallel parker. I think the longest I've spent trying to park is a minute and a half to two minutes.

Well, yeah - incidentally, it was a woman trying parallel parking. It was me and a friend carrying a large mattress, hence we needed some more space, hence we went through a smaller quieter street. As it happened, a lady was just pulling in to park - there wasn't enough space for us and her on the street, so we just decided to wait for a moment. And we waited. And we waited. A couple of minutes passed and she still had problems with parking her car. In another minute or two another car appeared behind her and the driver was also waiting on the lady to park, so they could move on. In another minute, the lady finally gave up and just went somewhere else, so we could all go on our merry way.

WOW!

It's 3 am and my day has been made already. I've seen people fail their parallel parking occasionally (Even I do it sometimes) but fuck me that was just ridiculous.

That's pretty bad, but at least it's not dangerous. I've had a few bungles in my time, but none can beat the time that my car went under the back end of another car. Little backstory: so my friend and I were going for lunch, right? We go down this busy-ass street and suddenly the light goes red. I try to stop, but I don't stop. My brakes worked, but my ABS failed and I go under the guy in front of me. I'm in this shitty little Saturn Wagon, and the guy ahead of me is in a Ford Taurus. His car goes right on top of my windshield. Luckily there were only minor injuries. My car was totaled though.

I used to be an absolute boss at parallel parking, but I've fallen out of practice and now I've lost my confidence.

I'd much rather pull into a space and then reverse out.

I'm terrible at PP, and will always try to find a different spot if at all possible. That said, even I can manage to PP in 2-3 minutes (assuming my car fits the spot...)

Well, and I thought I was a terrible parallel parker.
It is difficult, but maybe not quite THAT difficult.

My god. The horror..

Quick tip: Point your curb-side wing mirror down so you can see your rear wheel. Lets you get nice and close to the curb with perfect turn timing.

Pretty funny, though I can't really talk shit seeing as I haven't driven in like 6 years and doubt I could still parallel park.

As for people-watching, not specifically the drivers themselves, but... I can't help but be amused watching tourists in Manhattan try to hail cabs. It's captivating because they're often doing something that is obviously wrong to us here, but they don't understand what they're doing wrong or why none of the cabs are stopping. Generally not knowing what the lights mean, being in the "wrong" place/side of the street to get a cab at a particular time of day, or not understanding how you're "supposed" to flag down a cab. They'll often get all indignant if you try to tell them what they're doing wrong too (especially if they're with friends and trying to look like they know what's up) so I usually don't bother anymore.

Wow. That's not just bad a parallel parking, that's lacking a basic understanding of how cars even function. There was a point there where she did literally the same thing repeatedly, back and forth, back and forth, when all she had to do was turn her wheel five degrees the other direction to get in. That tells me that there are issues far beyond her parking skills.

For discussion, I don't usually see people having issues with parking. What I do see quite often, however, is people having issues filling up their gas tanks. This ranges from one woman who literally spent twenty minutes trying to get the nozzle to reach to the opposite side of her car, stretching and pulling, without even bothering to move her car a bit closer to the pump, much less go to a pump that was on the right side. I sat behind her for five, hoping she'd give up and move so I could take her spot, before moving over. I ended up buying a candy bar from the station just so I could see if she would make it by the time I got back out. Surprisingly, she actually, somehow, managed to get it to stretch. I don't know how she did it, but to her credit she never gave up. Stubborn, but not smart.

I admire their determination. It was the space or them, and they chose the space. For half an hour they valiantly fought, and they won.

To be honest those idiots were not helping shouting out the window, but on the other hand i could fit my car (a slightly wider and slightly longer car) in that spot first time (maybe 2nd, i haven't done parallel parking in a few years).

I'd laugh but I have been driving for around 4 years and haven't parallel parked once. I despised doing it so make sure to park somewhere I don't need to do it. Good job I almost always go to places with car parks.

I have seen somebody reverse into another car while leaving a car park, but then again, the person whose car was hit had parked it illegally outside the spaces, so I didn't have much sympathy.

I think this is an area in Belfast called the "holylands" Its close to a university and is intirely populated with cheap student housing. Parking is always crazy.
