Twilight! The only book i ever finished and yet hated from the first page on.

The movies are actually not that bad(chick flicks, what do you expect?), Stephanie Meyer's writing though makes the reading feel like spending your free time in the company of people you hate(i did that at high school, so it bothers me even more).

I hated the prose, the teenage drama and the wangst so much, i couldn't believe this dribble got actually published.

I also hated Harry Potter 5, i only read it because, well... its Harry Potter. More angst, more hormones, less common sense. In my opinon the point in the series where it all went to hell.

Lord of the Flies.
Oh gawd, no wonder people my age are turned off literature when they had to read THAT in their last year of secondary school.
KILL IT WITH FIRE!
Horrible, horrible book. Refused to read it after chapter 2; still somehow managed to get an A at GCSE o___o.
Mind you, my English teacher was stunning.

I try to avoid bad books xD but yeah, have to agree with Harry Potter. Oh god.

Also...there's this Tolkein one...Children of...Hurin? Thurin? Something like that.
I'm sure it's a good book, and the illustrations were nice...but god, it was written in such a way that I didn't have a CLUE what was going on.

For a young adult series, I really liked the Artemis Fowl books.
I loved those books but stopped reading after like the 3rd one, not because i didn't like it but i just stopped reading really. Now that i have been back itno it this is very dissapointing to hear. oh well.

OT: I would have to say great expectations was pretty bad when i was in 9th grade. too much for me, and the analysis, oh god the analysis. Idk why ppl are hating on harry potter tho, kinda surprising to see this much hate. i love those books. havent read twilight ever so i cant say that so yea ill go with great expectorations

Aye I ended up with a really good English teacher in year 11 (2 of them actually), so I got an A in my English literature too, without reading any of it for myself :D
That being said, I never really needed it, I'm now doing Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Further Maths at college xD

Easily, by far and away the most god awful boring illegible non story piece of garbage:
Peig.
And what made it worse was having to read it in Irish.
I still have nightmares when anyone mentions that garbage p.o.s!

sword of shanara series, I'd spoil the ending but alot of people like it so I won't. It's the worst set of books I chose to read.

... I didn't really care for the Narnia series either...

Since I didn't actually read Twilight, and found the Harry Potter series some what enjoyable I won't use them. Eragon stands out for me as being pretty bad. Mainly though Karen Chance's Cassandra Palmer series is pretty terrible, maybe it gets better but in the first book the author has terrible pacing problems. It starts at 100mph and never slows down from there. She doesn't take time to resolve anything before moving onto some new problem and the book reads like the main character is on speed.
As I've heard it described:

"Eragon is Star Wars if Star Wars had dragons... and sucked."

Haven't actually read or seen it, but if this quote (which I like so much I often find myself using it whenever Eragon comes up in conversation) is true, then I'm kind of glad I haven't.

That I ever finished? The Eye of the World, by Robert Jordan.
That I ever opened? The Host, by Stephenie Meyer. I was told that it was much better than the Twilight books, which I refuse to open. It wasn't.

Anything by Ted Dekker. The man simply can't write, but I had a case of "BUT WHAT HAPPENS AT THE END?!?" fever. Goodness, those were the worst books I've ever read by an absolutely massive margin.

If I have to be honest. Lord of the Rings

The stories are half decent but there's about 99% filler to quite frankly, half a book worth of story spread over 3 books. Hell, in the first one they get to Rivendell and then retell what you have just bloody read!

Nineteen Minutes and The Bean Trees. Such awful books.
I don't for the life of me know why, but I actually really like The Bean Trees.

The Deepgate Six Trilogy by Alan Campbell. I have never decided I dislike a book as fast as I decided I disliked those. I got through the prologue and chapter 1 of the first book Scar Night and decided I hadhad enough.
