Worst Book-To-Movie Adaptations

So I'm curious, what's the most disappointing movie you've ever seen based on a book?
Personally, I'm going to say either The Series of Unfortunate Events or Eragon.
Neither of the movies did any justice to the books, or for that matter, told coherent stories

Starship troopers. Bad acting, nothing like the book and bugs that shoot missiles out of their asses.

I don't think I've ever seen a book-film that was good. I watched the first Twilight film and thought it was OK, then i read the books and thought it was terrible because it missed so much out.

Eragon and alot of adaptions of "Of Human Bondage" but that's only because it's my favourite book.

And Choke. It wasn't terrible but it there was alot of good material wasted.

I was SO excited when i heard they were making an I Am Legend film. I could have vomitted with rage when i watched it.

If graphic novels count, then Wanted.

It had no resemblance of the source material. It was an entertaining movie, just a terrible adaption.

I wasn't too keen on Steven Spielberg's adaptation of War of the Worlds. It wasn't bad but those two kids ruined the whole film for me.

The latest Harry Potter films are rather disappointing. Numbers 1, 2 and 3 were all right, but 4 onwards just didn't impress me I'm afraid.
