Probably Frankenstein.

I expected the book to be interesting, but it was just soo boring and badly written. I was like "this is what pasted for horror in the 1800s?!"
To be fair Mary Shelly wrote that while drunk off her ass with a couple friends on a rainy day.
So why the hell are we going over it in school as if it's a great piece of literature?

Because we live in a world where everyone thinks Frankenstein is the monster.
Frankenstein is the monster. Frankenstein's creation is not the monster.

Think about it...
As i pointed out to another person already trying to say this...

People think that the creation's name is Frankenstein. People think tall green and Homicidal is named Frankenstein. The guy who goes errrgg arrggg and kills people. That's the guy most people think is named Frankenstein.
I know. I just like being awkward.

The Catcher in the Rye.

It was just some teenager coming up with what he thought to be witty and wise commentary on life. Basically things that most teenagers do that I hate.

Heh, just the opposite. I had a really crappy reading list junior year. The Crucible was one of the better ones.

Some book about a girl during the holocaust (Not Anne Frank). It's title had something to do with the Star of David.

I really hated the book.

The Time Traveller's Wife. t'was terrible. Can't really complain though, helped me get a B in an otherwise failworthy subject.

I actually didn't mind The Great Gatsby. Probably because for some reason I cast Robert Downey Jr as Gatsby in my head and that made it a lot more interesting.

OT: The Scarlet Letter, jesus

Twelfth Night by Shakespeare, though there were close runners ups such as exracts of Hegel and books by Stephen Ambrose

I found the ending worth the wait though, believe me, if you haven't read the ending, you're missing out.
The movie's ending was especially tear-jerking. ;(

The Stone Angel. (Grade 12)

That is the worst book I've ever had to read for school. I didn't even manage to finish it, it was just that bad. Her main reason for choosing it was because it's Canadian literature.

At least my 9th grade English teacher had the sense to pick a good book (The Outsiders). I read through that book twice and picked up my own copy once the novel study was over.

I liked both. the worst part of the crucible is that we had to "Act" it out. so the dislexic kid was John Proctor. in the other class our creeper teacher was john and this really skanky girl was Abby. lol
