here it is
look familiar? like the dark knight returns? its the references, the animation, everything that makes this the 2nd best batman cartoon EVER. 1st? obviously animated series.
okay, worst? oh, geez, so many to pick. i would have to say that stupid gumball show. ugh. all those stupid modern slurs, use of the word crap like a noun (its a kids show, by the way.) it just disgusts me.
Fun Fact the Joker in this Batman is Dexter's Dad from Dexter's Laboratory.
i thought he sounded familiar...

The dude (whose name eludes me at the moment) is actually a pretty talented voice actor...

It's all there in the title. What do you think is the worst cartoon currently airing on television?

Max and Ruby AKA the show that prompted this thread.

My dad's girlfriend has a three year old son who likes to watch it when he's over here. It may seem like cheating to pick a toddler's cartoon, but believe me when I say that Max and Ruby is inane, cheaply animated and badly acted even by those low, low standards. The only explanation I can think of for why a show this terrible exists is that the creator wants to punish any parents being forced to watch this crap with their kids.

[sub]PS: Before anyone says My Little Pony This Title Should Really Have a Colon, please save it for another thread. I'd rather this one not devolve into yet another pointless internet slap-fight.[/sub]
Seriously dude? I have a three year old niece who watches this, and I've had to watch it a few times. Its a kids show so its naturally annoying, but Max's pissed off face actually makes me smirk everytime. In the land of kid cartoons, Dora is the worst.

Family Guy. It's poorly written, weak in humour and adored by young-teens who prefer its crudity and irrelevance over subtle and intelligent humour.
I thought the stereotype was college students?

Damn, people can't even get their generalizations right. How do you know why people watch a show? You aren't them.

Though i'd like to chalk up a lot of the hate to nostalgia glasses and just bin the various insults, I have to say that today's cartoon quality has plummeted. Especially when viewed compared to the mid-90s to 2k boom that we saw thanks to Warner Brothers, Klasky-Csupo on Nickelodeon and Tartakovsky/Faust on Cartoon Network

Nowadays, though, we do have to contend with stuff like Total Drama Island, Johnny Test and any of the Dora wannabes targeted at that massive kid demographic. And, sadly enough, when crappy shows finally have the decency to just die, another crappy show is waiting in the wings to take it's place.

Actually, come to think of it, I think the nostalgia factor is one of the reasons MLP is so popular. It's two main writers are from that same era that we grew up with [Rob Renzetti got his start with a horrible show, but went on to work on some of the greats] and they know how to hit at the rose-tinted heartstrings without the 'THIS IS RETRO!' screaming that others attempt at. Then again, i've only watched a few episodes, and I still don't see why the heck everyone thinks it's the second coming of Animation.

In the scheme of things, though, i'd rather watch it than Problem Solverz, Johnny Test or Diego the Explorer.

I have a younger brother, so I've seen a few:

Johnny Test is an obvious one. I could punch this show in the face if I could. It's so boring and unfunny, and features some of the most annoying and unlikable characters I've seen in a cartoon.

Another I'm not fond of is MAD. The majority of the parodies are painful to watch, not to mention the art styles are just hideous.

Then their's Flamboy and Chom Chom or whatever you call it, which is just as annoying as Johnny Test.

And in a depressing case, Spongebob. I used to LOVE this show when I was younger, and it still gets a laugh from me when I see the older episodes. But the new episodes are just so...I have no words to describe them. And the worse part is that they seem to make it as if the older seasons never existed.

I've seen one episode of The Problem Solvers, and it does seem pretty bad.

Wait, are you serious? The guy who did "Seven words you can't say on television" did a kid's TV show?

That is horrifically awesome.
Indeed he did:
He had an excellent voice for narration. It's a shame he passed away. Now kids won't know the awesomeness of George Carlin narrating their shows for them.
Nevermind, i'm an idiot.

George has quite a few strange casting calls under his belt. Sad that his last voice-acting bit was in 'Happily N'ever after.' Seriously, the only worse 'screw off' for an actor was Raul Julia as M. Bison, and Julia didn't get to put an HBO special out to help recover from it.

no, they have stupid crap like half naked animals. what the hell is the point of them being naked? they could be clothed and the show wouldnt change a bit.

OT: half naked animals. fanboy and chum chum. and this "CN real" crap they spout. it's called CARTOON network. not "lets try to get the older viewers that watch crap on the disney channel" network. that new beyblade BS. the voices... omg... no...
freaking BAKUGAN. UGH. That show; MAD. stupidity at its finest.

on another note, have any of you who say that "the 90's cartoons were way better than this" ever go back to watch that stuff? at the early 90's, everything included a moral. mid 90's, things were a bit better but still a little moral-y. late 90's was better, still a few morals to be had here or there. but some good stuff happened.
early 2000's we had things like static shock. it was good and all, after the initial "lets deal with skin color and racism!" or "guest start pro athletes!". i actually blame this show for the downfall of teen titans... i remember an episode with GL and the justice league where GL tells static shock that he might get a place in the teen titans. thank god that never happened...

I have a feeling this is going to turn into one of those threads where people who watched cartoons in the 90s talk about how much better cartoons were then than they are now.
OT: Max and Ruby is the only one that comes to mind, and I haven't seen that in at least 6 years? So I don't know
Nice to meet you, Nostradamus.

Most everybody in this thread seems to be overstating how bad some of these shows are.

Johnny Test: I really don't like it, but I've certainly seen worse.

Chowder: I actually thought it was pretty funny... most of the time.

Squidbillies: Okay, yea, it's bad and unfunny, but that's par for the course when it comes to 90% of Adult Swim's shows.

Family Guy: I think it's gotten a lot worse over the course of it's run, but I used to really like it. So there's something in having been good, even if it isn't that good today.

Thomas the Tank Engine: What, seriously? You guys are upset about this? It's a show for 6-year-olds about trains with FACES. To be honest, that clip doesn't seem that far off from what I remember of Thomas. In fact if it weren't for the CGI, I'd immediately assume it WAS from the 90's.

I haven't been watching many cartoons lately, so it's difficult for me to pick which is the current worst one, but if I had to pick, I'd probably say Squidbillies if only because it's the worst one I can recall that is still airing.

And yes, I know what I just said is all my own opinions and you guys are entitled to yours. But several of the shows that have been named are somewhat popular, which means they are reaching their target audience (or in the case of MLP, a completely unexpected and somewhat disturbing audience).

Well other's that he mentioned are mentioned already too.
And about the Megas thing.... I guess I need some sleep ^^; a thousand pardons for my miss spellings of such a great show ended before it's time.
