The end boss of Fable 2.

What the hell was that, the Big Bad of the game get's killed by a casual elbow to the face or a cutscene if you delay long enough.

It was so undramatic and uninteresting. It was just like "wait, what just happened?"

It happened so fast that if you blinked you would have missed it.
I lol'd when that happened. I thought it was hilarious :D

John Marston in Red Dead Redemption

It made no sense in terms of story, offered no proper conclusion and even the entire "redemption" bit was thrown away by this point, trading in poignancy for melodrama and cheap dime store tragedy.

Any of the former Warcraft III characters that ended up being bosses in World of Warcraft.

Your redhaired ghoul - Heather from Vampire TM: Bloodlines.
You can save her, by sending her away right after she gives you the T5 armor.

...from Saints Row 2.
He was so young, and there was a chance he could have made it
He's actually a call back to the first game. One of Julius' Lieutenants got taken out early on in that one. I can't remember her name, but its the one that Donnie's broken up over at the beginning of 2.

Mmmmmmmm... not a lot of memorable "bad" deaths...

I'd have to say Zach from Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core or the Emperor in Oblivion. Seriously, why bother hiring Patrick Steward if you're gonna kill him off 30 minutes into the game?

Going to go with Kat from Halo:Reach. Doesnt help that everyone else dies pretty epic like and you can take like 900 of those shots before you even get effected.

Emile from Reach

He got stabbed in the back with an energy sword and could still speak like nothing happened at all... All in all i had great hopes that the character emile would do something cool at the end but well..
What do you mean "not cool"

he killed an elite, got stabbed through the back then stabeed the elite who stabbed him in the neck!!!!!

thats the way i want to go...

No I meant sacrifice himself or something like that :D
You don't think he did? I seem to remember things just a bit differently.

I remember when you were given a task so dangerous that any sane person would refuse. A task so impossible that, even for a unit built to do the unthinkable the the odds were slim. I remember a man who ran headlong amongst the enemy in a desperate bid to breach their lines in order to deliver what little hope remained for the species. A man who strode deep into the endless ranks of the enemy without hesitation or pause, a man who, without discussion or question volunteers to hold the enemy at bay as long as he could. I remember a man who held his ground and shattered any who came within range, a man for whom even death could not deny a final victory against his enemies.

Only one other member of the team was granted such a fate. Kat was brought low by a sniper's bullet, denying her a chance to die fighting. Carter died to provide the slimmest chance that the package might be delivered. Jorge died bringing down a capital ship. One died hoping to save the planet. Another died in the chaos of a battle lost. A third sacrifice was necessary to clear a path and the fourth and fifth to hold the line.

In a career built upon improbable feats of heroism, the stand made by Emile and Six are worthy of particular note. There was no hope of victory in the battle. The human ranks were shattered, the fleets scattered. They faced the coming darkness knowing with absolute certainty that to linger for but a moment was all the pause necessary for the reaper to take what was long overdue. They died not to save a planet, not to save a transport, not even to allow just one more ship to escape. The fought and died because they believed the one hope remaining for the species needed to be safeguarded at any cost.

I'd say that, as much as any other, is a death worthy of a Spartan.

Explain to me how you can EMP proof any electronical tech.
As far as I'm concerned, the big-ass weapon went boom, and they all should've been frozen because their suits went offline.
Use a Faraday cage.
*LOST refrence :)
Incidentally, it also works exactly like that. Sudden introduction of EM energy is collected on the Faraday cage and directed elsewhere (i.e. a ground circuit). Yes, there is an upper limit to what any given shielding system can handle (introduce a significant enough current and conductors tend to melt/vaporize), but the truth is that most really important bits of military hardware is shielded for precisely this reason. If you further consider that humanity uses quite a few Nukes in the Human Covenant war (that Deliver hope trailer for instance has one), I would have to assume the secret of such things was not lost on them.

And, if an EM pulse is sufficient enough to overcome shielding entirely in a military vehicle, you won't survive the sudden discharge anyhow (that current has to go somewhere) so the point is doubly irrelevant.

"Now try explaining that to their kids"

John Marston from RDR. After the best fucking character died you're let tying up any loose ends with that whiney arse fucker of a son.
If they ever do make a House game I agree. Lawrence Kutner. lol.
Dierker from The Saboteur. There I was looking forward to an awesome final gun fight with the twatty Nazi and no. He's on the BLOODY eiffel tower, crazy and one fucking pistol shot in the head kills him. LAME.

This. I mean what the hell happened to her shields ?
Worst however is Lucian in fable 2.
Fuck ninjas.
Oh and another one, benezia from mass effect 1,powerful biotic, who opens a few doors and then dies...
The nuke damaged all of their shields with the emp pulse.
Youd think in an age where nuke's, Emp's and planetary destroying rings are used, youd make a life saving energy sheild a bit more durable.....seriousley the spartan sheilds seem to only withstand a burst of fire.....

Zack from FF: Crisis Core. I mean seriously? You're gonna die to save Cloud. Fucking Emo git
If that game weren't a mandatory lose, I would've won in the last battle. I had all my health left and if was just "No, you're dead."

I knew it was going to happen, but it was still lame.

With so many threads about the 'best' character deaths in gaming it seems only fair to look at the other side of the tracks at the worst deaths in games.
My choice is Imran Zakhaev, the russian villian from Call of Duty 4, survived a 50. Cal sniper shot and loss of an arm but gets killed with a pistol by a six-day recruit, should have been so much better.
EDIT: Should mention that there will be major spoilers
To be fair, nobody puts just 1 bullet in him ... I put one in both his mates and then empty 4 into his chest all dramatic like.

If you fire the last round the drama loses all strength because then you reload .... that scene they should have only give you just one clip.
