Murlocs get such a bad rap, have you seen the new gladiator murloc pet? Best idea ever.
Not to mention he's completely adorable!

I mean look at that! He's so cute! [http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/images/news/2009/april/murkimusthegladiator.jpg]

By the way, yes, I know I'm a dude and the word "cute" shouldn't be in my vocabulary. But do I care? No.

Carth Onasi is high on my list of unlikeable characters, but I think top honors have to go to...Jill Valentine and the cast of the original Resident Evil. The voice acting is probably supposed to be bad, but holy crap.

Collette from Tales of Symphonia.

She was such an annoying character, and I think it was an inside joke that they gave the most annoying and normally useless character angel feathers, the most powerful move in the game.
If you mean Sacrifice, then she was the best character. You killed her, your party gets the exp, and she stays at the same level never to be used again.

Collette as well as Fayt and Sophia (Both for the horrible Star Ocean:till the end of time) are the worst in JRPG in my opinion.
Oh snap, Sacrifice that's it, don't know why I said Angel Feathers, although that was a decent move.

Sacrifice was such a cheap move though. When I used it, I expected something half decent, then the fight ended and I was left confused. I thought 'how could they give me such a move that could insta-kill people?

P.S. You should be flogged for your blasphemy. Star Ocean: Till The End of Time was an awesome game, and had one of the best battle systems in an RPG.

The battle system was nice and ok. Though when I lose all my magic I die? WTF? Anyway the story is was made me hate it. But you love it and I hate it. I can respect that.

But Angel Feathers was a horrible attack. It was so weak. But the insta-kill Sacrifice was worth not using her.

True. I thought losing MP and dying meant you were more cautious in the way you thought. And I think that game had no excuse to not be multiplayer in the story mode (I never did get the 2 player vs mode)

Also bear in mind the story was tolerable for me. It sure as hell wasn't going to win any awards that's for sure. But the ending made me want to raze a village.

So it was the ending. I didn't finish it because I hated the story. If Tales could do a 4 player co-op adventure, why couldn't Star Ocean?

AHA! It wasn't Angel Feathers that was a good move, it was Judgement. I believe her version was faster than Kratos' but not as powerful, or as a cool.

Where the hell is my mind today?

Hmmm. A character from a game, you say? Then I'll go with Tyrael from Diablo 2.

Oh look I'm the protector of humanity, now please kill Diablo, Baal and Mephisto, then maybe I'll come and throw my sword at the source of world's power, because I'll look cool.

But not from a game, Orihime Inoue.

BOOHOO I'M A SAD BIG-BREASTED IDIOT, I CRY ALL THE TIME, I HAVE GOD-LIKE POWERS BUT I'M TOO WEAK TO USE THEM! I ALSO BLAME MYSELF BECAUSE IDIOTS DIE AROUND ME TRYING TO RESCUE MY BOOBS!

Read last... few weeks of Bleach manga and you'll get it.

Exactly! Or a 3 player, because you could only have 3 characters on screen at once, but yes, it would have made the game a lot better. I remember starting Tales of Symphonia with three of my friends and ending it with one, but it was great fun.

Never read Bleach manga, only Naruto Manga (in terms of shonen manga), but I do watch the anime (which has gone into those insufferable fillers) and that sounds like a very accurate depiction of Orihime.

Indeed. I started with 3 and ended with 3.

You know, people have mentioned Garithos from WC3 a lot, and I have to agree, I had an intense, physical reaction to this asshole. He really pissed me off.

Every single damned Marine from Halo 3, except Johnson. They're fighting for the survival of their planet, nay, their SPECIES, and they stand there spouting one liners.

The Companion Cube from Portal. The thing wouldn't shut up.

Geodude from Pokemon. 'Geo', meaning rock, and 'dude' thrown together? How much more unoriginal can you get. In fact, all the damned Pokemon piss me off. Their names consist of Japanese pronunciations or puns, and their speech consists of their name over and over.

Waluigi and Wario. Ugly, pathetic ripoffs who exist to milk more money from nostalgic Mario/Luigi fans.

Any game that features a big, muscular white guy or any JRPG also gets the 'failpit' as bad characters.

The head guy master of ceremonies thing from the Wii Mario Party. Every now and again my stupid Wii owning friends force me to participate in a game of Mario Party. The icing on the crap cake that is that experience is that stupid sprite on the bottom of the screen with the stupid 15 years ago sound effect for his chat bubbles saying something mind-numbingly dumb and infuriatingly stupid. It makes me so angry at Nintendo for unleashing such horrible atrocities upon the video game world. Uhg, it makes me so mad!

Speaking of which too (i know someone mentioned him early in the thread) WTF is up with WaLuigi. REALLY?!?! WaLuigi??!?!

your wingmen in Ace Combat 5, they are in the military and spend the entire game complaining about fighting a war. I especially hated Chopper, when he died, i cheered, first time i was happy to see a video game character die

generally any character that's voiced by a horrible voice actor. they don't sound real if the voice actor is only giving his half-assed best shot at it.

[edit]oh oh, example, ayumi from x-blades. watch unskippable and you'll see what i'm talking about.

I hated Tidus. I don't know why, I just found him completely unlikeable.
It was his voice that did it for me. That, and his pants.
Yeah, it was probably his voice, now that I think about it. And the things he said. And the way he said them.
Scratch that, it was just him.
