Collette from Tales of Symphonia.

She was such an annoying character, and I think it was an inside joke that they gave the most annoying and normally useless character angel feathers, the most powerful move in the game.
If you mean Sacrifice, then she was the best character. You killed her, your party gets the exp, and she stays at the same level never to be used again.

Collette as well as Fayt and Sophia (Both from the horrible Star Ocean:till the end of time) are the worst in JRPG in my opinion.
Oh snap, Sacrifice that's it, don't know why I said Angel Feathers, although that was a decent move.

Sacrifice was such a cheap move though. When I used it, I expected something half decent, then the fight ended and I was left confused. I thought 'how could they give me such a move that could insta-kill people?

P.S. You should be flogged for your blasphemy. Star Ocean: Till The End of Time was an awesome game, and had one of the best battle systems in an RPG.
The battle system was nice and ok. Though when I lose all my magic I die? WTF? Anyway the story is was made me hate it. But you love it and I hate it. I can respect that.

But Angel Feathers was a horrible attack. It was so weak. But the insta-kill Sacrifice was worth not using her.
True. I thought losing MP and dying meant you were more cautious in the way you thought. And I think that game had no excuse to not be multiplayer in the story mode (I never did get the 2 player vs mode)

Also bear in mind the story was tolerable for me. It sure as hell wasn't going to win any awards that's for sure. But the ending made me want to raze a village.
There was something besides Story mode in ToS? Or are you talking Star Ocean (haven't played it, is it any good)?

Angel Feathers was worthwhile when you first get it. Para Ball was her great attack. And, just to throw more fuel onto the flames...she's my favorite character.

As for my most hated character...huh. I think there's a difference between my most hated character and the character I think is the worst. I mean, I hate Shinji and Zouken Matou from Fate/Stay Night with a passion that burns brighter than a blue star, but I have to admit they were good characters.

So I'll just ask...why all the hate for Jar Jar? I mean, sure, he was kind of annoying much of the time, but to see all the descriptions, you'd think he slaughtered everyone's family pets.

I've been playing Mass Effect of late, and I've found Kaiden Alenko to be bland. Just really, really bland. Ooh look at me I was put through a tough bioticcamp. I don't care, you still sound exactly like Carth from KOTOR.

I remember laughing the first time I got to choose if I wanted to save Kaiden or Ashley

DISCUSS
TOTALY AGREE. I mean, geez. Back in KOTOR I did happen to like Carth and forgive him his emo-ness a bit, I patted him on the back and didn't brutally destroyed his life and hopes like I did for pretty much everyone else like the crazy Dark Side jedi I was.
But Kaiden was just... nnnghh... Didn't help I was half-Biotic either.
He was going all "waa-waw I'm so pitiable and my life sucks because I am a Biotic and nobody can understand meh" and I was like "Hello, what am I, a chair?".
Even worse,
he was the sole not-a-blue-chick love interest for female players and I DESPISED him. Gee, I didn't even understand half of what he was babbling all the time. So all was left was the blue chick but she was also bland and I never had her in my party so I went with celibacy... >_> At least, forced to go girl-on-girl because all the males were alien life forms, Ashley was 10000000x times better. *grumbles* Guess who I saved?

I hated Tidus. I don't know why, I just found him completely unlikeable.
FFFFFFFF I LOATHED Tidus. What an ANNOYING CRETIN. Actually I didn't liked a lot of people in FFX. Actually, I didn't liked FFX a lot at all. Horrible, horrible, horrible voice-acting. And it was almost more like a playable cinematic than a game. I hated how the control was always wrestled out of my hands for any random cutscene. Heck, sometimes the game just made your character walk in your place.
Anyways. Tidus was an idiot. And I didn't liked his design. And how come he could breathe in water? And I hated blitzball, stupid sport. And it seemed like every FF game has some sort of Tidus look-alike. Vaan looks so much like Tidus, I had a nightmarish moment when I first saw the screens thinking they had plugged Tidus in a new game for some horrendous reason.
Hopefully, they did not.
...Barring FFX-2.

So true! She was annoying, but not in a way that'd make me despise her as a character. But, as a game character... Colette was next to useless, and she kept being friggen kidnapped all the time! And all her attacks except the angel skills (and not all of them) were outright bad. And my best friend had decided Colette was her favorite and had us play with here in the party for the whole game! >_> Hopefully she got kidnapped often enough so we didn't carry that dead weight in battle all the time. XD
We finally coaxed her into using Genis in the boss battles too. But ungh. Colette, bad game character.

But anyways, personality-wise, she's annoying, but it's passable. To a certain extent, you pass the irritation caused by her constant spouting of "I'm sorry" and it turns into some sort of sarcastic amusement. Of sorts.

Until Tale sof Symphonia 2: Dawn of the New World came out.
Emil. EMIL.
He is like Colette, down to always spouting "I'm sorry" but worse. He is downright emo, like Kaiden Alenko. He is as clueless and annoying and badly dressed as Tidus.
And to be worse they make him become badass-ish (but seriously it's awful) by making him
a knight of Ratatosk (what an hideous name XD) and have him possessed so he starts speaking with a deep voice and say eviiiil things. UNGH.

If you want to hate a main character, play TOS 2. Seriously.

"It's me, Emil! And you thought Tidus' fashion sense was slightly disturbing? Look at my sleeveless top, ye mighty, and despair!"

And now, I'm out!

Movie Character: Jar Jar Binks and ANY person in a modern horror movie...honestly how stupid can they be.

Game Character: Tidus, because he doesn't know how to be cool. At all.

The entire cast of Devil May Cry; 110% 1 dimensional and mostly full of emo crybabies or overconfident ***hats.

On the notion of ToS, collette did get irritating. And Priscilla was the best character ever.

I agree I really didnt like him
I mean the main people in final fantasy are often badass like Cloud or Squall
Tidus was just useless, had no personality and even for a FF char he really did look like a girl
infact... the only chars I liked was the goth and Aaron the others were just cannon fodder
All game chars should be like Squall... If Squall in discs 1-2 that is otherwise hes just as much as a mincer as Tidus... seriously where did the sudden obbsession for that women come from? pre-disc 3 he dispised her! she didnt even do anything to get him to like her MIND FUCK!

Moira Brown. I think that's her name, the owner of Craterside Supply in Megaton, Fallout 3.

I hate her happy, high pitched voice so much I decided to ditch my initial good intentions, become an evil character and blow up Megaton. And the bloody woman still managed to survive. Then she refused to believe me when I told her that I had detonated the A-bomb.

Shooting her in the back of her annoying head was the most satisfying thing I've ever done.
