Seeing as how Kai Leng has been stated, let me think about...
Ah, yes.

Delphine, of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. She's fine early on in the main quest, but as you learn more about the Greybeards, their leader, and the history of the Dragons, her likeability plummets.

The point where she crosses the line is the part where her interests and yours intersect after you find out the history of the Greybeards. Ideally with this newfound development, you should get presented with the choice to definitively side either with the Blades, or with the Greybeards.
Nope!
She just automatically dumps the Quest "Parthurnaax" in your journal, and there's nothing you can do about it. You can't hammer home the point that you're never going to do this, she just assumes you're going to sooner or later, and puts up the irritating "don't come back until it's done" act.
You can't kill her, despite the fact she's no longer truly essential to the story at this point. You can't remove the quest unless you finish it or find a way to glitch, exploit, or mod it out. Where you can permanently lose the Greybeards' trust by finishing the quest, there's no road you can take to do the same with and/or destroy the Blades.

As a 360 owner and someone who likes to keep their quest journal clean, this irritates me.

I'm going to go with the either smartass or grim badass that is the vast majority of action game protagonists. Look at most modern action game protagonists, you could trade all the PCs around and pretty much nothing changes.

Tommy Wisseau.
I think that out of all Sacha Baron Cohen's characters, he's the one that's the most...

What? What do you mean he's a real person?
£$%^&*...

You're tearing me apart, fellow escapist!
He was awesome in that movie!

OT, Mud from Gothic series. Oh god, the mental pain he inflicted upon me on my first playthrough...

Rosemary from Metal Gear Solid 2. I don't think any character I have seen in recent memory spouted off so much fucking bullshit. God, get a roll of duct tape and tape the woman's mouth shut.

"Raiden it's the anniversary of our first date. You remember the movie we watched together? Don't you remember!? Don't you!? I don't care that you are busy trying to run an op."

Like shut the hell up!

Kai Lang from Mass Effect 3.

There are many villains that make you hate them because of how evil and twisted they are, there are few that cause hate just by how pointless, stupid, and unnecessary they are to the story.
I was just thinking that :D

Guy comes out of nowhere and we're supposed to hate him? I wouldn't mind if fighting him was difficult in any way, but then after was it supposed to be an 'epic fight', plot armour comes along and saves his arse.
They even try to have Anderson vouch for the guy by stating how he had a history with Kai Lang and what a badass he was. Nice try, Bioware.

It reminded me of what Yahtzee said about HL2: Episode 2; "It's like coming home from school to find a walrus sitting at the table, and nobody seems to notice."
In the books, which is where Anderson actually encountered him, he is badass, If the character in the game had been even close to the character in the books. Then he might have been a better villain than saren, unfortunately, drew left, and mac was left to write the narrative, and not just the characters. He is good at the second, not so much at the first.

Actually, there is a way to end that quest without killing Parthurnax: receive the quest from her, then go to the Greybeards and tell them what she wants you to do. Tell them that you won't kill Paarthunax...and the quest ends. I'll have to go back and see my quest journal again, but I know the quest is "completed" and isn't in waiting.

Actually, a few months ago, I saw a mod that allows you to tell Delphine to obey your word as Dovahkiin, and still lets you do the Blades quests.

OT: Nothing really comes to mind when I think of who could be the "worst character". I wished Bethesda had fleshed out the speech options for your dad in Fallout 3 a bit more. You know, let you tell him what you've been through and what you've done.

Actually....any of the human characters in DBZ become nigh useless after the Saiyan Saga...Yeah, let's go with that.

I thought most if not all the bad guys in Mass Effect where pretty bad. Saren, T.I.M, and Kai Lang. I didn't find any of them interesting and they acted like I was meant to sympathize with them. I wouldn't say worst for any of them, but I didn't like them at all.

If you just mean video games then ehh. The game where story doesn't matter. I mean Things like 50 cent bulletproof, The green lantern tie in game. Shit like that has the worst.

What do you get when you cross Navi with Kaepora Geabora then beat the resulting character in the head with a stupid stick?

There was a 99% chance somebody would mention Fi but only a 20% chance that I would be the one to bring her up. I hate Fi...she parrots NPC info back at you after the NPC has JUST given you said info. It's also a pain in the ass to get her to tell you information about the enemies you're targeting which is at least something Navi did for you. Skyward Sword is a decent game but it would have vastly been improved upon if Fi wasn't there...bring back some sweet, sweet Midna...mmmm...Midna.

Nazeem from Skyrim.

"Do you get to the Cloud District very often? Oh, what am I saying - of course you don't."

He keeps repeating that despite the fact that my character is a War Hero, Thane of Whiterun, Harbinger of the Companions, etc. etc.

I am probably richer or of comparable wealth to him, and I actually HAVE private access to the Jarl!

But he just keeps going on!

Luke Skywalker in Star Wars.

You know Luke, at least when Anakin was screaming in agony, he'd just lost everything he loved and was set on fire, and he still managed to be a stronger character than you. You just got your hand cut off and found out he was your father. Suck it up, you pussy.
i can see your point, but the acting of Hayden Christensen kinda made me lose any sympathy.

yeah, fuck that guy. there isn't really much to say besides that.

as for me..... its hard to say really. some guys just annoy the shit out of me, but the only characters i legitimately dont like are ones in the D&D game i am playing in, especially when the DM tries to justify them as good characters with complexity and all that shit. my god does he sound pompous/smug when he talks about that.

Morrigan from DAO. She's a pretty simple character, with the major character trait being that she's one huge *****. Guess what - a lot of people think that she's the best character in the whole game. Sheez.
