Which console (handheld too) or franchise do you really despise or find to be plain stupid or pointless? Also any franchise that has something to do with gaming. Like the whole Nintendo or Mario franchise for example (not that I dislike it). Please no versus posts.

For me its the N-gage. Feel sorry for the people t hat bought one actually, it seems to just cave itself in. The games were mostly terrible for it too and who wants a mobile phone the size of a DS anyway?

Virtual Boy. Hands down! I played it for 1 minute at a Sears and not only was unimpressed, but came had a headache.

N-gage was pretty bad too!

Yeah, this'll last long without becoming a flame war.

I'm not old enough to have played any consoles that somebody wouldn't be a huge fan of, so I'll just watch.

I'm pleasantly suprised. I expected something about 360s from you. Well done good sir.

In the same light I refuse to take part in the actual listing of least favourite consoles, as this will indeed end in tears.

*also gets popcorn, offers Indigo Dingo some*

I expected the same thing myself, and will side with the above two posts by not stating anything one way or the other.

Well it is great to see people find me to be a healthy contributor of topics to the escapist.

There is a link to game trailers top 10 worst consoles, I don't see it as a flame war, it is just showing some of the blunders. Try not to take it seriously. Enjoy!

The NGage was terrible. I played a freinds one day and needless to say i will never get that 2.5 seconds of my life back and im bitter. The marketing on it was almost as bad as the system. It had like all these awkward slogans and pictures.

Trip Hawkins MBA thesis brought to life, the 3DO, is one of the worst consoles ever made.

I'll have to say either the N-gage or that virtual boy thing. (I'd say the PSP, but the only reason I don't like it is because it's a handheld with a freakin' joy stick)

Submitted for your approval: A system that could not be remembered for the longest time, only recently have its horrors been brought back to light, remarkable for being in a similar vein to Virtual Boy and yet worse at the same time, having only one game released multiple times under different titles... To stop people getting mad at me, I will decry future hypothetical systems.

The Nintendo Wiidefined. It gave up on the simple elegance of its games and just tried to make it a full interactivy set, through wearing a control suit. It was ambitious, and it maybe could have worked, if they had made sure the wires were insulated. And whose dumb idea was it to sell all of their established IPs to Universal Studios to get the money to go through with it?

Coca-Colas Gameup wasn't even really a console, it was just a marketting gimmick. Pity the price didn't reflect it.

The Xbox 720. Why in the hell did they try to make the RROD communicable?
You forgot a bit:

The Playstation 4, having been released half a year before the 720, has a decent library of games, including the much anticipated but now widely hated Resistance 3. It is infamous for it's bugs and especially it's tendency to suddenly die. Collectively gamers are still out on what to call this event.

The Xbox 720 is much more expensive than it's sony counterpart, but according to fans it makes up for this with enhanced graphics and the addition of working as a "super-high-definition dvd player."
So far the 720 has very few games, and even less exclusive titles, 720 fans however still hold on to the promise of Fable 3 and Geometry Wars 4. Despite PS4 fans constantly waving the PS4's large library of games in their face.

Personally I never got a chance to play the Virtual Boy or the N-Gage so I'm not really qualified to comment on either (although I must admit, a sidetalkin' gaming platform that was basically cell phone games gone to BALCO never appealed to me.)

The worst system I personally played was the TurboGrafx16/PC-Engine from NEC. Not that the hardware was bad (it certainly couldn't match up to the SNES or Genesis/Megadrive, but it was a huge step up from the NES), but there were simply no good games for it. I don't mean "no third-party support" (at least Nintendo's platforms have the best exclusive franchises), I mean "nothing worth spending actual money to buy."

I saw what my friend did with his, namely let it collect dust as soon as his too-rich middle-class-stereotype 80's parents bought him a Genesis, and asked Mom for Sega's console for Christmas that year (1990) and not long afterward bought an SNES with my own money. The TurboGrafx was just a mistake (and what's with the stupid name? Saved by the Bell-era baditude at its worst).
