Yeah connection is the biggest problem for me, the countless times I've seen the Call of Duty kill cam show a guy getting killed by a gun not even pointed at him really ruins my gaming experience. Like the gun shoots at the place where the guy was half a second ago and he still dies. You know what I mean.
I know what you mean

I'd actually say people playing games that are meant to be team based as lone wolves. I'm not asking for in depth communication, I'm just asking if i'm trying to capture a point, I may need some help. I try to do the same for others.

If your on a PC server with active admins this problem tends to fade away. I play the same set of servers on Bad Company 2 all the time because there's an admin on most of the day and their number 1 rule is Teamwork. Constant snipers not using any spotting, motion sensors or mortar strikes are generally warned, then kicked, then banned if they don't get the message.

Heh, it's a shame then that a trained cabbage could beat me in a PC gaming know how contest.

Obviously Latency, and lack of teamwork depending on what game you're playing

Lag is the biggest issue. It's the only true way any online game is ruined.
This.

The one and only biggest gamebreaker ever in any online game EVAR is lag. When your ping starts to go 250+ you have no business staying in that server because you're never going to amount to anything more than a quantum-state cannon fodder/commando.

The worst thing in gaming is the increased competition with unknowns, you find people doing whatever they can to win yet at the same time take the fun out of the game. A good example would be One Man Army + Noob tubes, I've won many a 1-2 bar games using this kit with a nuke, because dem dere Americans were shit talking me for being a New Zealander. There's no fun in using the kit, and it makes the game too easy to bother playing properly if there's someone like that one the enemy team. Another (CoD) example would being the FAMAS/74u in Black Ops, really boring guns, really easy, you know...

When I crippled my hand at the start of the year, I played WoW for a bit to kill some time. Got to level 60 before quitting, but I played completely left handed, alternating between mouse and WASD. Major disadvantage, but I still did alright in PvP.

living in australia i would have to say lag. 300ms pings in some games compared to 50ms that i here people get in the us. same goes for COD.

also the annonymous jerks are a disadvantage. selfish, angry liars that are only online to cause you issues and play games as if its a singleplayer game, as in they dont share or help other people who have helped them.

Connection, obviously. There's no question about it. Your superior reflexes/gun skill/map knowledge/gigantic penis won't mean a single thing when you're three seconds behind everyone else in the game, and they can turn around and kill you after you've fired an entire clip into them without landing a single hit.

Community, almost all my online gaming is PvP PC group based.

Good team = fun times, chance of finding one? Depends, but never more than 50% unless you premade. Edit: And most of the time it feels like 90% of the random made matches have all the noobs with you.

How about lacking a TV, controller, eyes, hands and... For good measure, you don't have the system either.

I'd say this is a pretty big disadvantage
