Not actually seen it myself yet, but my friend has told me that the ending to the most recent Prince Of Persia game was a HUGE dissapointment for him.

WHAT THE FUCK! A Giant vagina demon and no loot? worst ending ever! Only Ninja Claptrap saved it from all hate, at least it ended on a fun note.

Which is a pity because the game was good fun to play.
I wasn't so sad about the inevitable mingebeast, because frankly if there wasn't a big 'orrible monster on the end of a loot hauling game I would have been more disappointed.

No, the problem with the mingebeast is that it drops shit loot. I mean if you're lucky you might get a purple out of it, but mostly no, you'll get some shitty blues and greens.

Also, it doesn't respawn, so when you've been whoring Eridian Promontory, New Haven, and Old Haven for actually good loot you can't go back to the Vault and prove your newfound uber-hardness to the boss. Again.

Still, at least the credits music was cool.

I hated the ending to Brutal Legend. He just saved the entire civilization from being ruled over by nasty demons, and he gets no appreciation. Hell, he doesn't even get the girl; one kiss and that's it. Then he leaves. The End. Craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap!
Tim Schafer has betrayed me. For Shame!
You can go back for more facetime with Ophelia any time you like in the postgame.

In addition to this being the worst ending I've ever seen, it was - without a single doubt - the worst GAME I've ever seen. Anyone else remember how shockingly awful/irritating ATHENA was for NES? I don't think programmers have ever pissed away time more than the time spent making that game.

(I'll try to post the ending below in a Youtube clip, but I'm not sure if the html coding is correct!)

For how insanely difficult this game was, to have a reward be a B.S. screen with no words, no credits, no nothing, just a screencap, followed by an unceremonious dumping back to the main menu. Ugh. Just bad. Bad, bad........ and more bad.

Well, I can't really say I've disliked many video game endings, but for movie endings? That would have to be Knowing. (spoiler warning)
"Everybody on earth dies." Yeah, that's a nice way to wrap it up.
Man. I loved that ending. For once humanity couldn't stop the big bad from happening at the end of a movie. I thought it was cool.

OT: The ending of 'Angel' where the massive demon army is charging in and they're about to get slaughtered, then...credits!

Thank goodness the comics came out to explain what happened after.

Borderlands had an ending that I didn't really like.

The whole point of the game was to find the Vault. Then you find the Vault. Then a giant monster thing comes out and takes like 10 minutes to kill. Then after you spend all that time, he dies and his body blocks the way. So the Vault was real, but you can't get to it. It was not Borderland's shining moment, I can tell you that.

Resident Evil 4.

Don't get me wrong, I fucking loved RE4, but the ending was one of the worst I ever saw.
And here's why: At the end of it all, your supporting character bold-facedly ASKS YOU to...
(How do I put this gently so I won't get banned?)...
Well, she referred to it as "doing some overtime". Anyway, you (the hero) politely refuse, keeping up the appearance of being respectable and professional. Then when you finally reastablish contact with your advisor (who happens to be female), he starts flirting with her.
Then when she turns him down, he actually has the CHEEK to say "Story of my life."

Dude, the daughter of the President of the United States actually ASKED you to bonk her and you get all mopey when someone who gets less screen-time than crew-member Number 5 gives you the cold shoulder? Definitely one of the worst endings ever.

The TV version of The Mist. I'm a fan of down endings, but that one was just arbitrary and made no sense.

Shadow of the Colossus...
Clearly, sir, you have gone mad.

SotC was all about building dramatic tension and rapport with your characters (yes, characters - Wanderer and Aggro). I don't know about you, but when I went to fight the Final Colossus and Aggro 'died', I was mighty fired up. In fact, I think I just stared at the TV in disbelief; after all, he may have been old, slow and had all the control characteristics of a broken shopping cart, but he was *my horse.*

As Thaius pointed out, the final struggle against the blackness, even though it's pointless (especially so, IMO) was a perfect cap to the game. You'd gone through the whole story as a Hero of Dubious Action but Good Intent and it finally caught up to you.

Totally badass.

Oh my god, Sev is still trapped down there! So, I assume the next mission will be to rescue him-? Wait, what the hell do you mean this is the end of the game?!

Horrid. Not to mention it doesn't even feel so much like an ending so much as the game just stopping.

God damn Yoda. I really liked Sev.

OT:Durge of Cerberus. "I'm so sorry." "LUCRECIA!!!!!!"

So awful...

The Matrix: Path of Neo. Hands down, worst ending ever. It's a big "Fuck you" to everyone that ever liked the Matrix in any form.
