For all of you hating on a singular southern accent, like ace_of_something said, there are tons of different varieties at different speeds, though NC has to have one of the slower ones, atleast the older people.

I saw that episode on TV. Shut up, I was bored as fuck.

So that voice, and...

Well, have you ever heard a guy with an EXTREMELY low voice try to speak English with a thick Nigerian accent? It's annoying as hell, and you can't understand a word of it.

I don't know if it's technically an accent, but ebonics has to be the worst fucking way a human being can speak English, IF you could call ebonics "English."

Hmm, no hate on us Aussies yet? I'm amazed.
but I love the Australian accent! haha

I love the southern accent (er...not the deep south one exactly), but sure why my Jersey ex didn't lol
I can't say I think the New York and French Canadian accents are the worst, but I'm not particularly fond of them

Atlantic Canada. Newfoundland to be precise. I live here (newfoundland, duh) and we have the most butchered version of English you can find anywhere
I can kind of understand that, but I like it for the fun of it xD

Then again, I grew up around it, what with all my relatives having heavy Newfie Accents. Besides, it's mostly only the older people... Then again, that's... Most of us, but what can you do b'y?

OT: Ahh... Probably a stereotypical Indian accent, it just grates the ears.

Yes I am. It is truly the greatest scar on the English language that I have ever encountered.

A thick new zeanalnder accent really puts me off sometimes. Its the complete change in the vowel sounds that throws me off what that person is trying to say.

(also, geographically speaking, this would be as southern an accent as you could get)

South African. It sounds like someone trying to speak in an exaggerated German accent whilst gasping between the ass-cheeks of a morbidly obese man. Ugh.

Or, y'know, Jersey.

*shudder*

Not necessarily the worst, but one of the most difficult to comprehend are Cameroonian teachers who speak English and Scottish teachers who speak English. We have teachers from both countries at our school and a lot of the students complain that they are hard to understand.

Since I've never been to England I can't comment on the actual variety of accents present there.

But I'd have to say that the Southern US accent is the worst. It seems like no matter what they say, it sounds hopelessly stupid.

That and the tone that stereotypical teenage girls use. I guess people might call it the 'Valley Girl' accent. It grates on my nerves so much. >_<

Also, the French Canadian accent. Thank God I was born and raised in Manitoba so I don't have to hear it come out of my own mouth. My Dad was born in Montreal but thankfully his family moved when he was little so he doesn't have the accent either.

SO much hate on Southern USA accent's. -_-"
<---Has one

I don't really get bothered by accents that much, it's more of the style of speaking. An example of a style of speaking: someone tries to talk like a valley girl "Like OMG, so like bla blah like blah! Blah blah blah like like like!" or a rapper "yo yo yo! Dawg yo. Man you trippin like a hobo yo" Or however the devil they talk.

Fortunately, in California, we don't have much of an accent
Dumbest post of the day.

A thick cockney accent annoys me and I'm Australian... otherwise the fact that the US has so many different ones it doesn't make sense.

Irish too, grates on me... although I don't mind true English.
