Developer: Valve fans. (I am a fan of Valve but dear god sometimes I am ashamed of the other people who share that title)

Console: All of them. (All console fans[footnote]I won't say fanboys because I know plenty of girls also play games now, they just hide to avoid shit like TITS OR GTFO and other equally juvenile crap.[/footnote] suck equally, it's a platform to play games on, stop acting like yours is better than everyone elses)

Certain major league sports fans are ridiculous. For some cities, the outcome of an important game is justification for them to run rampant in the streets and riot. For some cities (like Boston), it's an excuse to celebrate victory. Other cities (like Vancouver) wreck the town in rage of defeat.

I guess I should be glad we don't take soccer seriously here in the states. I've heard the stories about soccer riots. O_O

But the most ludicrous part, IMO, is this: the people who are involved in these city-wrecking riots are NOT THE PLAYERS BUT THE FANS. The fans had NOTHING TO DO with how the game turned out, so what gives them the right to lose it like that? People who whine about video games may be annoying, but at least they have the first-hand experience of the game that gives them the right to rant.

I will say any person who over does it. Also people who call themselves meta in any game, and then complain that they got owned by a player who is playing for fun. Also all the TF2 fans bagging on Free to play and how it is ruining the game. Ok my little rant is done.

I really enjoy the coop story modes, firefight mode is fun, its completely customisable to the point of some maps being like mods, forge mode is awesome.

People even make massive arty statues in forge mode from bits of scenery. I don't get why people seem to think that it's all Jocks. It's mostly people who haven't played the game I think.

on another note I also dislike most of the fps multiplayer fanbase because they go around being racist and calling people fags all the time because they can't be punched through the screen.

Especially the kiddies on L4D2 and such that shoot you for med packs, who bought them that game? omg? stop ruining it for me

I've always heard HoN has an even worse community. But yeah, you are totally right. For whatever reason the DoTA genre (if it can be called that at this point) has the most hostile player-base I have ever been a part of.

From my experiences on both, HoN makes LoL look like the universe's center of enlightenment and compassion.

Dota/HoN win this thread hands down. I quit playing both because I was tired of games never lasting more than 5 minutes before someone ragequitted. HoN players? favorite thing to do was start a game with ?noobs only? in the title, then ***** at the people who joined for being noobs (what they really meant, of course, was ?noobs only for the other team. My guys had better be fucking pros).

Has anyone played Halo recently? It's pretty civil and friendly.

*The Jock statement comes from Halo matches feeling kinda sporty. I usually play for a good time.

The League of Legends community. Guess why I stopped playing.

I actually made a thread here about how bad the LoL community was a few months ago. Seriously, if I didn't play with IRL friends all the time I would have quit a long time ago.

I don't have any IRL friends playing LoL, and it was hard to make friends, so I went back to Heroes of Newerth. I can't believe I actually like this community better, seeing as it is horrid. But I guess that goes for the entire DotA genre.

HoN had a worse community, until recently (or, the last five-six months), when LoL became insanely popular. Now it's a cesspool of bad manners, basically. I won't turn this into a LoL vs. HoN discussion, since I like both games, but in my experience, the LoL community is worse nowadays. Pretty sad, because it was alright when I started playing, when the game wasn't HUGE.
