I don't know if this counts but I find the community/fan base of Ebaum's World to be the worst on the internet. Like 4chan's annoying younger brother.

Twilight. I mean, Jay-zus.

Ok, I don't mind the Team Edward vs Team Jacob stuff, that's fairly ordinary, but the crazy obsessive types who go batshit insane at any hint of criticism.

[small]Though, there's a heartwarming story about a boy who stopped a girl being beat up by Twihards, and they are now a couple...if they were 10 years old, and the Twihards had machine guns, this would be the basis of half the low budget action movies ever made[/small]

I'm going to have to say Nintendo, or more specifically Mario.
I was in an argument with a classmate of mine who said that Mario Galaxy 2 deserves an 10/10 on every website. My argument was that the story was overused, and the gameplay was basically ripped from the first one, and that a 10/10 means that it is perfect in every way

Do you have the same classmate as me?

OT: CoD or Twilight

I'd have to go with CoD, Final Fantasy and Zelda. CoD for straight up ignorance, and uncalled for verbal harrassment. Final Fantasy and Zelda because both of them are very lucky to be given all they have but constantly complain (Although FF fanboys often do have the right) but Zelda fanboys bitched to have an OoT remake for years, they finally get it and ***** they are making it, just... ughgghh?

I would have to say the Portal fanbase, just because they are so damn annoying.

"Hur hur hur, the cake is a lie. TEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEH!" We get it already.

I'd probably have to go for Halo/Call of Duty/FPS drones on this one.

The more excessive elements of the Doctor Who fanbase are rather irritating, This is a rather short list as to why: http://doctorwho.livejournal.com/4845838.html

Aside from that, My friend who like me, rather enjoys watching MLP:FIM, but insists on being an irritating meme spouting fanboy, who delights in freaking people out with the show. That kinda Fan helps nobody.

I'm going to say Tolkien's.

I had someone argue with me and tell me that my opinion was truly wrong when I said that Lord of the Rings wasn't the best thing ever and he proceeded to tell me that art is entirely objective and I am an idiot if I don't make blood sacrifices and have a shrine to Tolkien.

Hardcore Twilight fans are pretty awful.
CoD casual fanbase are terrible as well, people who claim to be hardcore uber gamers but only ever play CoD and hail it as the pinnacle of gaming achievement.
Pretty much anyone who think their opinion on something is gospel truth, or people that lay into things that they've never tried.

For the record I have tried both Twilight and CoD and found them wanting... each to their own I guess.

Not necessarily portal fans. Half of the uses of that (and generally the most annoying) are from people who haven't even played portal.

The Witcher 2.
I mean godammit people, this game DOES have flaws after all, and that comes from someone who loved it!

I'd say footballfans (soccer). They see all the flaws the game have (diving, for example) but when you start talking about making changes to the game that might get rid of the cheating (and make for more entertaining matches) they nearly piss themselves out of anxiety.

This, and also the anti-CoD fanbase. Both extremes are bad.

Also, anyone who prefers Pepsi to Coke. Because they're wrong.

The Fallout fanbase is in a state of constant war that has little hope of changing, ironically enough. You either have the veteran fans who insult Bethesda for committing the cardinal sin of making a first-person, semi-real time game, or you have the people who dismiss the older games out of hand simply because they're old. The veteran fans are worse, in my opinion, probably because they've been engaging in flame wars for ten years now and they've gotten really good at it.

I'm going to have to go with the Linux fanboys.

Yes, I understand you like all the custom crap you can do with it. Yes, I get that you love the "free software ideology" or whatever. Just let me know when you can play that game I just gifted to you without Wine failing every 10 minutes.
At least have a separate Windows partition or something.
I have gifted games to Linux users several times, and none of them have even booted up one of the games once. Either they can't, or they won't. One of the two.
