Gotta say that hardcore star trek and star wars fans are the most annoying. Both sides will argue never taking the time to respect each other. I love both star wars and
Star Trek and think that the they lay down arms and respect each other.

I would have to say the Portal fanbase, just because they are so damn annoying.

"Hur hur hur, the cake is a lie. TEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEH!" We get it already.
Not necessarily portal fans. Half of the uses of that (and generally the most annoying) are from people who haven't even played portal.
The saddest part about all that is that anyone who has actually set aside the three hours needed to complete the game know that the cake isn't actually a lie.

Well, I'm just going to say any one who tells me I'm stupid for liking or disliking some thing. Wasn't there a time in human history, however brief, that people could discuss what their preferences were without calling the other names? Acting like I'm sub-human for disagreeing with you is, as Powers Booth's character from Deadwood says, "... a quick way of getting told to go fuck yourself!" and I know that the people doing it are better than that. It doesn't make me angry as much as it makes me sad.

Any fans of any weeaboo anime bullcrap. Seriously, dropping random Japanese words into the middle of your sentences does not make you "kawai". It makes you look like an idiot and I hate all of you forever times 1000

Fans of most things really. I mean, I like a lot of things. I would say I was a fan of a great many of them. But there are points when people take fandom far too far.

Little kids who think they're amazing because they're allowed to play CoD. People who only ever play CoD and think they're some kind of 1337 gaming Gods because they pulled off a cross-the-map-360-no-scope-wallbang-quad-headshot or something ridiculous like that.

People who are against CoD in every way and think that people having the sheer gall to play it makes you some kind of inferior life form, and through the wonders of Ad Hominem use this to decry every comment you ever make about anything as being false or invalid.

The Halo fans who pretty much act exactly like that Awesome Reach video that somebody posted earlier.

The Twilight fans who won't shut up about how it's the best thing ever. Fair enough, Twilight was good, New Moon was shit and Eclipse was ok, but still. I haven't read Breaking Dawn (yes read... like books) but I think I've read enough to realise that it's not the best thing to ever grace this planet.

Console fanboys. Enough said. Just look at any forum or thread where they engage in the console wars and you'll see some of them get pretty OTT.

Fans of particular genres of music can really get annoying too. The chav scumbags who think they're the be all and end all and think they're going to be the next great MC. The chindies who are really chav scumbags but are in denial, and they went to Evolution and went in all the 'Mosh Pits' and think they're hardcore. They often engage in 'Mosh Pitting' which doesn't even exist. When things get a bit hectic in school corridors they say "Hew this is like a mosh pit! YESSAAAAIIII!" No. This is just people stupidly close together moving forward quite fast. I'd love to see the 'Mosh Pits' you've been in. I'd probably get stupidly bored and start a proper one with some friends. Then there's the Justin Bieber fans. Ugh. Just go on Youtube and search for something like, Justin Bieber vs. Metalheads or something like that. It's actually ridiculous.

Some random annoying kid with a lisp: "This is a message to all Justin Bieber haters. I am here to tell you that you all are wrong. You all like heavy metal or something instead of decent music from people with actual talent. Well, metal sucks dick. This is an open declaration of war on all 'metalheads',". Oh dear. He goes on and on and on for aaaaaages, and it's all absolutely ridiculous. There are many more videos of a similar nature. There are also very serious, well-thought out arguments from the opposing side. It's all ridiculous.

Then there are the teenies, and the fans of bands like Black Veil Brides. The people who will blindly follow bands anywhere, supporting any change at all in style or musical direction, simply because they think one or more of the band members (usually the singer) is 'fit'. These people sicken me sometimes.

All in all, it's just fanbases really. If something creates a fanbase, it's more than likely that someone will blow it ridiculously out of proportion, and take things way too far.

Linux and Apple. Good holy Raptor Jesus on a flaming stick, I cannot fucking stand either of these two. They're so impossibly smug it makes me want to punch babies with a spiked glove made of lava and rattlesnake venom. YES, we get it, you're better than everyone else, now shut up and go be superior all by yourself.

For the record, I really have no problem with either of those things. Linux is a great platform and I have an old box that dual-boots Ubuntu and WinXP that I mostly run as a Vent server for myself and a few friends. Apple is also not inherently good or bad. Their stuff is pretty reliable if a bit overpriced. But listening to the fanboys, one would think that everyone who doesn't swear by either is a brainwashed, mainstream, bleating sheep controlled by their corporate overlords, and the fanboys are like, free, and they won't let themselves be held down by the man. For fuck's sake, an operating system or a bunch of shiny gadgets aren't a philsophy or a political statement.

Hetalia. *shudders*

I stopped watching that show because I couldn't keep up with how quickly episodes were made and released, and holy shit did I do the right thing. It's probably the most obnoxious yaoi fanbase for anything ever. And 90% of them are weaboos, too.

Call of Duty (Does every recent shooter have to be compared to this series?)
Street Fighter (I have more fun playing and discovering combos other than learning them and using the same cheap combo over and over. That and spam range moves aka HADOUKEN!)
Legend of Zelda: Orcarina of Time (Not my favorite LoZ game.)
Halo (First one was fun to play with via co-op and not online, and I don't own a Xbox)
Final Fantasy (FFVII was a waste of money on PSN!)

Can Nationalists be considered fanboys? If so I fail to see how they cannot, based purely on the amount of destruction and death they have caused in pursuit of their fandom, be considered the worst.

The most ill-mannered, annoying group of fans out there are those people who are fans of soccer. Doesn't matter which team. All of them are like this when it comes to it.
No. Just...No. Your Avatar is Australian, so you aren't aloud to say that.

SO DECLARES I

Anyway, to sum things up, I'm stuck between the Naruto and CoD fanbases, both are fairly aggravating.

Final Fantasy. No contest. Why else would the series have stagnated if it wasn't for the... people who keep buying the games when they are subpar games all around. More or less.

Hmm.... In terms of fans of stuff I don't mind, CoD fans can get really aggrevating, more so if they try and convince me of it's awesomeness compared to other games, and its around that point that I point out to them just how terrible the company behind it is, making me feel somewhat bad that I just ruined someone's favourite thing.

But stuff that I don't like or hate? Well, basically fans of Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Katy Perry, hell most pop/crunk-core fans I usually find infuriating to listen to (thank goodness that I don't encounter many of these fans in Toronto). I guess Hipsters as well, in so much that they are all fans of something that apparently I and everyone around me has never heard of. Not just Twilight, but fans of Twilight related stuff such as Vampire Diaries, Red Riding Hood, Beastly, basically just those "modern"retakes on fairytales where the actual dark and disturbing stuff is instead replaced with "Im dark because I brood" stuff are a pain in the ass, but again I dont see too much of them.

I think the worst fanbase of all though is probably the Nintendo fanbase. I can sort of get the idea that because they were one of the few to bring gaming where it is today and because there was a time they actually did several different things that they would receive som sort of following, but these days it boggles my mind how Nintendo fans can say the stuff they say without thinking back and realising that Nintendo is doing the exact same stuff they usually complain about, and usually does it in a worse way than anyone else.

All fans are annoying to non-fans. The level of which varies based on how obssesed said fan is, I dont think it depends on what he is obssesed with.
