Most movies that are really bad are so bad that they retain some level of enjoyment. I like to call this the Ed Wood effect.

The movies that I truly hate are the ones that are just boring and pointless, but people seem to love them for some reason. These films include, but are not limited to, Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather Trilogy, Scarface and many others.

These are movies that are just not that great, but for some reason people love them. People look at me funny when I talk about not liking them, like I just told them I enjoy kicking puppies. Through having to defend my position so many times, I have come to truly hate movies like this.

...and anything Michael Bay has ever done.
Lol, go troll somewhere else.
He does have a point, though. There are all these movies that are considered "classics," whatever that really means, that some people honestly cannot see the point of. Scarface and the Godfather trilogy are some of the films he mentioned that I also find utterly dull and pointless. Same goes for Citizen Kane and Casablanca. I've tried a few times to watch them, and every time I end up turning them off and opening a book or something instead.
It's not really trolling if you're giving your honest opinion.

The New World.

It was, paws down, the worst movie I have ever seen.

And it's taught me this: If critics love it and call it a "deep" movie, then I know to never even think of seeing it, because most likely I will hate it. If I want something "deep", I'll go live my life instead; it's much more exciting.

Splice or Daddy Day Care. Terrible, terrible movies. Just awful.
And Splice is a terrible date movie. I know that now.

Space Thunder Kids is way, way worse than the room.
I don't even know if you would want to call it a movie.

I've tortured myself with awful movies for many years I always get a good laugh from them. The last stinker I sat through was called "A Dangerous Man" came out in 09 I believe starring Steven Segal in all his washed up glory. There is a sex scene in it where the chicks on top of him and his face still never changes just that same squinted face like the Sun is in his eyes and he talks with this ghetto accent it's just classic so bad it's good.

Far Cry.

I warned a friend of mine that it was a Uwe film, but he's a massive Far Cry fan and so we managed to cringe through an hour of it before finally turning it off.

Across the Universe. It was so hyped up when it came out, as the best movie any of my circle of friend had ever seen. I hadn't heard anything but infinite praise for it from the time it was released in theatres to when it hit shelves. It was the worst movie I have ever seen, by several degrees of magnitude. The fact that I was expecting a masterpiece and got a kick to the dick just made it worse.

i once found out, to my horror, that a film had been made about the character Buzz Lightyear, as in, the space ranger. i watched it for about 3 seconds and was just repulsed, why would they gang up on and beat the crap out of their favourite movies like this?!?!?!?!
Funnily enough that was one of my favourite movies as a kid

Hostel, easily.

THAT was supposed to be entertainment? People praise Eli Roth for THAT? I will never understand some people.

For me its a tie between the "horror" movie Stay Alive and the ""Comedy"" (I think that one deserves double quotes for this movie being so far from containing anything that would qualify as comic relief) The Cat in the Hat. God, those movies were terrible. just awful... everything. An example of something that would be better would be a movie that started with "HA HA, GOT YOUR MONEY *****!" and then the credits rolled.

Transformers 2 in my library. Piss-poor acting, 1/2 the movie being a fight between giant robots and the downside is that they have no personality! Transformers made robots interesting, not soul-less machines that had a singular purpose!

Revenge of the Fallen is a stupid name too. Suddenly bring a character that we never knew or even could be inferred as a character from T1!
Oh the third movie's title has got that easily beat.

Hope you're psyched for Transformers: The Dark of the Moon.
