Bad as in a poor ending or bad as in a sad ending?

Because if its the latter, holy crap Disgaea 2 worst ending takes the cake.

The hero kills his love interest, is possessed/fuses with an incredibly powerful/crazy demon and EATS HIS LITTLE BROTHER AND SISTER edit: AND OH YEAH, THE GAME MAKES YOU LISTEN TO IT HAPPEN
Actually, that's one of a few possible endings. For example, I didn't get that one, I instead got:

The love interest turns out to be a super crazy killer demon intent on killing everyone, and the hero stops her by giving her a hug (I think it was a hug). Basically, the nice ending.

This is ever-so-slightly off the topic, because I do think this game has a good ending, but was I the only person who found some of the end-of-mission dialogue in Mass Effect 2 to be a little disappointing? I think the general high standard throughout the game makes it really stand out.

All I'm saying is, you'd think Garrus would be a tad more concerned about having stuck his knob in the boss, rather than being stuck in a perpetual loop of talking about how nervous he is about it.
He also seemed more nervous about said knobbing than he did the looming suicide mission.

Borderlands, Fable 2, Risen... videogame endings sorta suck in general. Basically any game that isn't AAA+ probably doesn't have the budget to properly flesh out the last third of the game, and the ending is nearly always some cliffhanger bullshit that resolves absolutely nothing.

Enslaved

The ending doesn't even make sense as the Leader says he never enslaved anyone but i specifically remember a time aboard a SLAVE SHIP where a SLAVE was executed just for talking to me.
I know right! And he keeps going on about how the outside world is dangerous where you have to fight to suvive. It's like that because you keep sending out mechs to enslave and kill everyone! That ending doesn't make any fucking sense! and then it has the gall to try and throw in a moral conundrum 'did we do the right thing? Are we just as bad? etc...'. fuck off. No. We are not. and the game was going so well, the characters (trip & monkey) had great depth and interactions and they just went and threw it all away!

/rant

Sorry about that.

Borderlands - It was nothing, the whole Vault thing was just a portal with a monster...

Fallout 3 - It was a huge plot hole. There was absolutely no logical reason for why you needed to sacrifice yourself.

Alan Wake - It was a cliffhanger to make you buy DLC, then the DLC ended in a cliff hanger to make you buy the next one, and then that DLC ended in a cliffhanger to make you buy the third and final one that is yet to be released.

Assassins Creed 2 and Brotherhood - It basically made Brotherhood a pointless game, the actual story progression was the length of a minor DLC, which they could have made it for AC2.

P3P's ending for both the Male and Female MC. I love the game a lot, but the ending was awful. It just felt like a massive dick move on the story writers part.
Wait, what? Why was it a dick move? Am I missing something? We are talking about Persona 3 Portable, right?

Edit: Oh, and I hated the Assassins Creed 2 ending. I mean, they set up this awesome game that tries to focus on realistic portrayals of the environment, fighting, and such, with a bit of religion loosely thrown in. Then in the last five minutes
You find out that all this somehow has to do with aliens that were worshipped as gods and that your true enemy isn't the Templars but some kind of force of nature(unspecified, of course) that will destroy the world. And for some reason, you're the only one who can stop it...

Mafia 2.

It ends so abruptly, you put in all that work and all that effort and that's what you get?
I loved the game but the ending made me a little sour.

Now just hear me out for a second. It ends with the saddest, cliffiest cliff hanger ever. and what proof do we have that were ever gonna see a conclusion? None!

Borderlands, easily, I know it's been mentioned, but damn that ending is annoying. Tbf though, Gearbox did make up for it with the godly dlc 'Secret Armory of General Knoxx' just a shame you have to pay for an ending we should have gotten anyway..sigh..

Borderlands, oh dear god Borderlands.

You spend the entire game searching for the vault, find it, fight a giant pan-dimensional octopus thing and then...nothing, it just ends.
This. Just...This.
I mean, it's made out as this massivly powerful creature and it guards a dimension where a room holds tons of Epic loot. And you don't even get to see inside.
The vault never had loot. It was made by the Aliens to seal away the plate of calamari and keep it from killing everyone. Just the hunters and such began to believe it had loot.
Worst ending: Half-Life 2. BECAUSE IT DOSN'T HAVE AN ENDING!!!

Elasto Mania has the worst ending.

When you get through a level, you can choose "next level" or pick it from a list.

When you've played the last level, you can't choose "next level" or pick any new ones from a list.

Thanks for reminding me of how disappointing that ending was.

Borderlands probably does have one of the worst endings. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2 also had a pretty disappointing ending, the end of the game just felt rushed and just couldn't live up to the first game's.

You drop dead and the gamewriters didn't even have the decency to tell it to you. They had to release Persona 3 FES with 'The Answer' to clear it all up. Mind you this is just my personal opinion about the ending. I've never been fond of endings where the MC drops dead.
Wait, really? How exactly are you supposed to guess that from the ending? I thought you were just going to sleep. The alternative doesn't make any sense at all...

Final Fantasy 8.

Because I didn't like any of it - for reasons that would take paragraphs to explain - I therefore condemn the ending as much as the beginning and middle.
Did you see the alternate interpretation someone did that suggested that on disc one Squall died when he got hit by the ice?

Its actually pretty well thought out. That ice spike goes right through him and he blacks out and then wakes up with no wound. When he wakes up Rinoa who had shown no interest in him previously begins to love him rather than his rival Seifer and lots of other subtle plot shifts happen.

The theory is that the ice wound kills him but as hes dying his has a dream/last fantasy where everything goes right for him. There's even dialogue to support it such as Ultimecia's weird dialogue and the final FMV makes a lot more sense.

Heres the link Squall is dead here's why [http://squallsdead.com/]
I had no idea this existed. I mean, this doesn't make me like the game better, but it's rather interesting.

New one for me... Bulletstorm.

Has a terribly boring series of QTEs as a boss fight then you get airlocked out and then have to get back into the ship to be blasted out of a escape pot to get off world...

Yeah that kind of works only why not just bury the hatchet with the planet and tie up the all the loose ends then and there with the bad guys?

I can't believe nobody's mentioned 1942, the old arcade game. You single-handedly fight your way through the entire Japanese air force and then some, beat them all and you get... "Congratulation" printed on the screen. That's it. Nothing more. They didn't even bother putting the "s" on the end of the word.
