ET was certainly the worst effect on the industry. Here are some famously bad games:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worst_game_ever

Worth a look. Important games include ET, Shaq-Fu, and Superman 64. I'd throw in Night Trap and Bubsy 3D. Also, Daikatana.

Many of the worst games, however, are forgotten. I'm surprised someone mentioned Cheetah Men.

Honorable mention to Custer's Revenge, where you play a half-naked rapist with a three-pixel penis.

I'd have to say Azurik: Rise of Perathia, a release title for the original Xbox. This is the only game I ever bought without reading about 5-10 reviews on it to see if it's worth my hard earned cash. OH....MY...SWEET...CHRISTMAS, that game was so absolutely horrible. On several occasions I have tried to play it, but the fighting system sucks, the camera angles suck, the characters suck, the enemies suck, the enemy A.I. sucks, the locales suck, the textures suck, the magic system sucks, the voice acting sucks, the whole 'run around and randomly find your magic powers again' system sucked. Bottom line.

THIS GAME SUCKED

id say pokemon colesium 2, it is actually a good game for 10 minutes but after that your just doing the same thing until you stop playing. think of pokemon when it was still good then take everyting but the trainer fights out. there is no end or way to level up pokemon and you can use any of the ones that existed when gold and silver was released and they are ALWAYS lv 50 you can use pokemon from gold and silver but that requres some n64 attachment that it doesnt adequetly describe. hank god i didnt pay for it (i got it free when i bought a mates n64 off him, i arent a thief)

Worst goes to....*drum roll and even though I don't like it it will NOT be HL* Resident Evil Survivor. This game was terrible in pretty much all repects. The voice acting was broken and at best hilarious (considering that this is a horror game that is not a good thing). The plot was also screwed from the very begining and falls back on the good old fashioned way of explaining your characters presence in the given situation...AMNESIA!...which just so happens to disapper after an hour depending on your individual marksmanship. I could go on but I'm not here to write a review (unless someone really wants me to).

Worst game that I have personally had the misfortune to play was Two Worlds, I do not have one good thing to say about it, especially after the concept and trailers looked so promising as well.

But as for any game ever just that I've heard of or seen, looks to be ET for the Atari. God that looks horrible.

that game was a classic piece of 'lets produce a quick game and cash in more on this series'. Though i enjoyed it for what it was, it truly is an awful game.

Good to hear I'm not the only one who thinks along those lines

From what I saw from ET, I think it would indeed be a very good bad canidate (always wanted to say good bad without it being wrong :p). From the games that I've played, warhammer 40k: Fire Warrior definately comes to mind. But then again, I bought it because I wanted to see how bad it was, so I still had some degree of fun with it.

"Where's Wally" on the Mega Drive (As in PAL)... whether there was a "Where's Waldo" on the Genesis I don't know. But, imagine a 16-bit attempt to recreate a Where's Waldo picture, with a fuzzy voice telling you what you have to find. When it tells you to "Fnnd the frrzy pwnpjr!", good luck, as I never worked out what the hell it was. I think there were only four "levels", and it took about ten minutes to complete.

If more people knew about this game, it would feature on more "worst game" lists than most. Games like Shaq-Fu aren't great to play, but the animation and production values mean it can never be "worst ever". Another game that comes to mind as just being poor in every respect was Armourines on the N64. Me and a friend were playing it, thinking it was a sick joke. Just endless corridors with one type of enemy, badly rendered. Never got past the first level, and there aren't many games I can say that about.

I usually go through reviews before I buy a game now (exception being Halo 3, I bought the Legendary edition. Yes n00bs that helmet is worth $80 to me, not to mention all the other stuff).

So, from when I was young and bright-eyed. My worst game is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for the PC.
