Wost recent game: Infinite Undiscovery - Everything that is bad about JRPGs, nothing that is good.
Worst game of all time: Outpost - set new records for releasing an unfinished buggy game as a completed product.

That judgement includes Armored Core so you can take that right back, make an exception or prepare to face my wrath.

Al right, I didn't want to do this but I guess it has to happen.
Your mother was a hamster and your father smells of elderberries.
That's it,its over and done with, accept your defeat.
[hold his side with his bloody hand] Never!! i fart in you general direction you english pigdog!
[Falls on one knee to the floor, breathing heavily] now you've done it, THIS IS SPARTAA! [followed by the kick of course]
NAAAAAY!!! [falls in endless pit of armored core dislikers where they have to play armored core until they finish it]

ET for the atari i mean, thats how to make an awful game.
Also Vampire Rain/rein what ever it is IS a horrible game its like MGS had an illegitimate son with Buffy the vampire slayer.
And then force fed stealth to the child for 2 years and forgot about the rest of the game play ending up with a terrible stealth shooter with ridiculously hard enemies on the first levels, and yes i know your mean to stealth around then but you need a chance to defend yourself.

Non controversial - The Simpsons, Bart vs the Space Mutants. Dreadful.

Controversial - Halo. I will never, ever, ever, ever, EVER unerstand why anyone thinks that there was anything revolutionary about it at all. Slow, stupid, simple (as in easy, not uncomplicated).

Probably Heavenly Sword, or LostPlanet - Extreme Condition.
I agree on LP - EC but Heavenly Sword is awesomesauce.

(been a while since I used that word)

Anyway.

Quake 4 could be a contender.
Awesomesauce is a very cool word, i must admit. But Heavenly Sword is not imo. I feel most of it is too easy, a bit repeteative, and the puzzles (i hardenly even think they deserve to be called puzzles) are EXTREMELY easy to work out, e.i when you chuck the sheild at the gong, making the door open.

Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing.

Look it up on Youtube. You will not find worse. It's almost like it was made bad as a practical joke.
Big Rigs is the best game ever made! [/sarcasm]

I don't own Halo or anything, but I play it with friends. With that said, I'll try to put it into your terms. Most likely, you're someone who's familiar with more hardcore shooters, as that's usually the type of person who doesn't like Halo.

The appeal of Halo is that, unlike Counter Strike or any of those more "revolutionary" or complex FPS games, skill on Halo can be gained a lot faster. You can get a masterful kill in your first game from just luck. But that isn't just because you are holding a four leaf clover - it's easier in Halo to have good luck in a fight as a newbie because there are less reasons why you'd screw up. Other shooters have features like greater gun recoil, guns that need repair and/or jam after some use, and other cheap tactics that are made to kill newbies.

In appealing to the newbies by keeping it simple, Halo's allowed a lot of people in the casual field of gaming to enjoy things and feel professional quickly. That's one of the big reasons why it's so popular. So to name it the worst game ever is a mistake in my head - it was well designed in the sense that the desired appeal was achieved by the developer. It was never intended to be revolutionary complexity - just polished simplicity.

The amount of sarcasm required to say that is virtually inhuman. May I learn from you oh Zen master?

PN5... Product Number 5 or whatever it was called on the Gamecube.

I distinctly remember buying it on budget, playing it with a friend and him laughing with me as I announced "Wow, this is the worst game that I have ever played."

He didn't believe me so he tried, and then went, "Wow, that is... awful."

Yeah seconded.. I don't have the patience and time to take any Lego game seriously. Ironic because I was addicted to ACTUAL Lego as a kid. I wonder what ever happened to real Lego...
