Yay. Someone wrote their first flame bate. Here's a trophy. Even if you dont like the game, to honestly say it's the worst game ever is stupid at worst and pretentious at best.

And yeah I'm going to go with ET/Big Rigs/Plummers don't wear ties/Superman 64. Pick one.

To be fair, most terrible games don't have the excuse that they were intentionally designed to be terrible - Desert Bus was essentially a prank on anyone who purchased Penn & Teller's game (had it ever been released), not a serious attempt at creating a 'game'.

Desert Bus was a satire on the campaign to eliminate violent videogames. Essentially, it's what's left after you remove any form of violence, risk, or competitive element from a game.

Anyway, there are many truly appalling games, some are even famous. One game, never released outside of Japan, Hoshi wo Miru Hito [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqJKIkkUuuY], has recieved the title there of "densetsu no kusoge", or "legendary shit game" for it's appalling brokenness in every way.

The worst I played is Halo Wars. It had nothing special or interesting about it, and is NOT the best X-Box RTS available. I actually had a better time playing Superman 64 than I did playing Halo Wars.

Halo Wars wasn't epic or legendary but it was still pretty good for an FPS to RTS crossover (you want an example of a game that didn't fare too well in this respect? look at AVP: Extinction, it was absolute shite), it played well, that's enough to make it a good game in my books.

The worst game I've ever played has to be either Resident Evil: Survivor (the one with the light gun that was set on a tropical island) or Corperation on the Sega Megadrive (it was just a garbled mess, you couldn't be sure what was used for what with the possible exception of guns and medical kits).

Worst game I've ever played: Astro Boy for PS2. I have given up because I've discovered that's what the level designers did for the antepenultimate and penultimate "dungeons". Also the camera sucks, the boss battles are battles of attrition and they wasted the source material.

Worst game ever: ET, no questions asked.

well it depends what kind of attributes we look at for "worst game"

the one that is least enjoyable.. I dont know about that, maybe the ones listed

or the one that has been the most detrimental to society. based on the sheer number of unproductive hours spent on wow, by that definition its the worst one ever made and has had the most negative impact

As opposed to all those hours that were productively spent playing Halo or Half Life? Or indeed any other GAME in existance?

So Games are evil because they take the precious time we could use for something else.
In this matter movies are evil too, and if you'd believe hard enough even paitings can be evil because someone might look at them too much.

I thought Ecco was a great game for it's time. But everyone's entitled to their opinion even if it hurts me deeply.

The only game that ever disgusted me was Vampire Rain. The Game shop near me is pretty good and sometimes I'll chat to the guys about various games and sometimes get steered away from crap games, which is good business in the long run. When I was looking at Vampire Rain a new guy told me that it was really good. I was a bit reluctant having only read a preview for it where the previewer was obviously wet for the game. He insisted it was "like the best game released in the past six months!"

about an hour later I publicly and drunkenly announced that I was breaking up with the shop.

Ive been playing them quite a while on Sega Megadrive Collection for PSP and although they have flaws they're keeping me entertained.

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this, but Canadian comedy group "Loading, Ready, Run" (yes, same guys that do Unskippable) used Desert Bus to raise money for the charity Child's Play. I forget how much they raised in the last one, but it was several thousands of dollars. Look up "Desert Bus for Hope" for more information.
