Marvel Nemesis, I wasn't going to let that pile of horrible beat me.
Worse than that though, why is half the roster comprised of people for whom I don't care? And why the fuck did The Thing have ears?!

I guess I never "played through and finished it", but I sank way to many hours into Animal Crossing. That game is THE definition of a grind game.

I can't really think of one. If I dislike a game, I lose interest and can't bring myself to play it. So, I've never finished a "bad" game before.

I can think of a couple...

Black & White- I kept thinking that at some stage I could be a God and not an errand boy for my creature/pathetic people. I was wrong. The game ended and I was so furious that I ended up buying the expansion and the sequel! Take THAT, Molineux!

Halo- The first one. I bought it simply to see what all the hub-ub was about. As the credits rolled, all I could think of was "Well, that was FUN! Now where's my Battlefield 1942"?

Empire: Total War- I love the Total War series. I started playing waaaaaaaay back when Shogun came out, and I have the entire series, expansions included. So why the hell did Empire make want to curl up in a corner and cry manly tears?

Ka-51: Team Aligator- Team Apache was a hell of a lot of fun. This sequel took that game, beat the fun out of it with a stick, and then calls you names while you're playing it (but not really).

Freelancer- Starlancer is my favourite space sim EVER... so imagine my dispointment when the sequel to this brilliant, linear military, Cold War-in-SPACE! extravaganza was a poor copy of every free-flight space game in existence. It didn't help that the sleek fighters of the first game were replaced with some of the absolute worst spaceship designs I've ever seen this side of EVE Online.

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand,

my friend said it was amazing, and I played all the way through waiting for the "amazing" to happen.

It wasn't as bad as it should have been, though. was it?

Only thing that comes to mind is Chrono Cross. There are probably some better choices but I can't think of them.

I mean it was playable, but it was nothing spectacular, just another generic shooter with nothing new or original about it to add to the pile.

Most games I don't finish if they don't interest me, but a friend continued egging me on through Modern Warfare 2 when it came out. Finished the campaign. . . Promptly returned it next morning. I should have stood by my common sense and not wasted my time.

Metal gear solid 4, stealth game my ass. The game play was awful and the story was laughable.

Wasn't that like a remake of the N64 version?
It's a reboot of the franchise and doesn't have much to do with the original versions. The only things that are the same are you're on a planet with dinosaurs, and your character's last name is Turok.

<url=http://www.gametrailers.com/user-movie/context-sensitive-turok-review/183535.html>A review of Turok by the only reviewer I bother listening to.

OT: Back to the Future on the NES and Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing. Both of them were after AVGN and Armake reviewed them, respectively. I still don't know what I was thinking when I tried those games.

Halo Two. And Devil May Cry 4.
Two games, had lots of potential, both completely screwed over and given no real imagination or care what-so-ever, and both suffered "armchair boss" syndrome. Final bosses who were patheically easy and ...well, they were both just 'there', they didn't do anything!

For me it would have to be Quest 64. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quest_64 This was one of the few rpgs the N64 had for it. In it you played as an apprentice mage whose on a quest to find his father who disappeared. however, the studio that made this game seems to have no concept whatsoever of what a mage is supposed to be.

When you think of mage in rpgs. You imagine a guy perhaps with a staff and pointy hat, who can't take a lot of damage, generally sucks at melee combat, and will generally die a lot unless he's protected. But he makes up for all that with the ability to cast powerful spells, that can do tons of damage and hit several enemies at the same time. You don't play as one of those types of mages in this game.

Oh no. Your guy is a kid armed with a stick that can cast spells or whack enemies with his stick. Seems about normal, except the developers for some reason [HEADING=1]Decided to make the staff attacks the most damaging attacks in the game[/HEADING].

In other words your spells were useless. They were not as effective as whacking guys with your staff. Oh but it gets better the only way you could upgrade your spells was by finding these little crystal spirit things. Not leveling up not buying or learning new spells from characters. No. Finding little crystal things. Which didn't matter because no matter how many you found, your spells would still do less damage than your F#$ing staff!!!

The final boss fight against a giant demon ended up being whacking him with your staff running away to heal and whacking him with your staff some more. Did i mention you could take several punches in the face from a giant demon despite only wearing a robe?

[HEADING=1]MAGES ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE RUNNING AROUND WHACKING THINGS WITH STICKS. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO CAST BIG POWERFUL SPELLS!!! OTHERWISE THEY'D BE WARRIOR-MAGES!!! IF THEY'RE WARRIOR-MAGES THEY WOULDN'T BE USING STAFFS THEY'D BE USING SWORDS, AND MACES AND BE WEARING ARMOR!!!!!!![/HEADING]
I had to laugh because that was the very game I was going to put up here! What a HORRIBLE RPG game! I would not have the patience these days to beat it.
