Lego Island for PC in 1997 (I was 7). I finished the main game many times, looking back at it now it was an absolutely dreadful game. I seem to remember the main story could be finished in about an hour though even by 7 year-old me. lol
if you stare at that last block of text long enough and then look at a blank wall, you'll see Jesus...CD-R said:For me it would have to be Quest 64. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quest_64 This was one of the few rpgs the N64 had for it. In it you played as an apprentice mage whose on a quest to find his father who disappeared. however, the studio that made this game seems to have no concept whatsoever of what a mage is supposed to be.
When you think of mage in rpgs. You imagine a guy perhaps with a staff and pointy hat, who can't take a lot of damage, generally sucks at melee combat, and will generally die a lot unless he's protected. But he makes up for all that with the ability to cast powerful spells, that can do tons of damage and hit several enemies at the same time. You don't play as one of those types of mages in this game.
Oh no. Your guy is a kid armed with a stick that can cast spells or whack enemies with his stick. Seems about normal, except the developers for some reason [HEADING=1]Decided to make the staff attacks the most damaging attacks in the game[/HEADING].
In other words your spells were useless. They were not as effective as whacking guys with your staff. Oh but it gets better the only way you could upgrade your spells was by finding these little crystal spirit things. Not leveling up not buying or learning new spells from characters. No. Finding little crystal things. Which didn't matter because no matter how many you found, your spells would still do less damage than your F#$ing staff!!!
The final boss fight against a giant demon ended up being whacking him with your staff running away to heal and whacking him with your staff some more. Did i mention you could take several punches in the face from a giant demon despite only wearing a robe?
[HEADING=1]MAGES ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE RUNNING AROUND WHACKING THINGS WITH STICKS. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO CAST BIG POWERFUL SPELLS!!! OTHERWISE THEY'D BE WARRIOR-MAGES!!! IF THEY'RE WARRIOR-MAGES THEY WOULDN'T BE USING STAFFS THEY'D BE USING SWORDS, AND MACES AND BE WEARING ARMOR!!!!!!![/HEADING]
Agreed same for me. I was a kid and couldnt resist. After it was over I felt worse.AverageJoe said:Lego Island for PC in 1997 (I was 7). Man, that sucks, especially since I loved the first 2 games.CDog2910 said:*messed up gravely voice* "Kkkill. mmme."FoolKiller said:and there was a glitch when I played it that didn't allow me to finish a mission so the game HAD to remain unbeaten. Even the game didn't want to be played to conclusion.sinclose said:I'd gladly say Driv3r but towards the end of the game, the missions had tested my patience for long enough and I stopped playing. Some games don't deserve the time you put in them.
You actually finished that game?? I couldn't get passed the fucking train level.Ultra Man30 said:Sonic 2006
It took me three days to beat it, yet I felt a sense of accomplishment.
Don't forget, there was no armor, all the shops gave everything to you free, and the story changes and forgets about what came before. What ever happened to brian's dad huh? It never tells usCD-R said:blah blah blah
TMNT the movie on DS, Far Cry 2, Red Faction Guerilla, Turning Point, Oblivion: TES IV (easily the most boring game I have ever invested $120 hours into), Mass Effect 2 (it was pretty bad...), Escape from Paradise City, Shadowrun (if you can call that a game... -.-).CDog2910 said:There are a lot of bad games out there but only some are retarded enough or short enough (or you were bored enough) that you actually take the time to finish, personally I finished a crappy Dorah game that my sister had a few years ago because we were in a LOOOOOONG car ride and she fell asleep. So, what was the worst game you played through and finished?
That's a shame, I really liked Bad Company one. I'm amazed you finished Predator: Concrete Jungle, that was bad.. I got up to level 6 and just couldn't play anymore. It was a good idea, but horrible execution.dbrose said:Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Shitty plot, annoying squad mates, blatantly ripping off Crysis, Haze, Halo, and Predator without doing anything right, obsessed with vehicle sections, and schizophrenically switching from cutscene to gameplay without pausing to think how that might affect player immersion.
Got it for free as a tester and I still want my money back.
Really? I actually preferred it vastly to lylat wars and wish they'd make a sequel to it. I might actually buy a Wii when and if that happens.Nazulu said:Probably the only bad game I ever got through was Starfox Adventures. Well it's not that bad but it could have been a lot better, it felt like very unfinished work.
While I've never played Kayne and Lynch, I do like some games that are drowned in a sea of flaws. So your not alone!Aerodynamic said:Kayne and Lynch.
Shame is, I liked it a bit, It was flawed to hell, but I still liked it.
Don't laugh at me.
I'm happy for you.Daedalus1942 said:Really? I actually preferred it vastly to lylat wars and wish they'd make a sequel to it.
