Vampire Rain for xbox 360. If you've ever stuck your hand in a wood chipper, well, that is more fun than this game. By quite a bit.

Also The Hobbit for PS2... I only managed it for about 7 minutes before I gave up for good.

Worst I've ever played is Action 52. 52 games and all of them are absolute tripe on a bike.

The game I've HATED the most, however, was Mass Effect. No idea what the big fucking deal.
Oh man, Action 52! That is an epically aweseome collection of crap. You may have seen this, but if not, watch and the let the bad memories fill your heart. http://screwattack.com/videos/AVGN-Action-52

EDIT: This is another review of his with probably the worst "game" ever made. http://screwattack.com/videos/AVGN-Plumbers-Dont-Wear-Ties-1

This is an easy question for me because I have ordered my games from favourite to least favourite, I just have to look... Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 for the original xbox. It's god awful. Don't even try it. I like some skateboarding games but that was just pure rubbish from start to finish.
Recently, it has to have been Lord Of The Rings: Conquest. I played it for 20 seconds, thought "Well bugger this." and put it back on my shelf.
Oh and I never sell/throw away/trade in games, so I'm stuck with it =P
I hope that's an exaggeration, because the game is pretty good if you actually play for a while.
Which one? LOTR? Yeah, it was a slight exaggeration. It must've been after around 45min - 1 hour of playtime. I suppose an unopened copy of Mass Effect 2 sitting next to me sped up my decision a little bit ;)
It seemed to me like it was a LOTR version of SW: Battlefront. Not exactly, but the core elements were the same.
Does it just continue as it starts or what?

I'm lucky to have played mostly good games in my life. But Colosseum: Road to Freedom was not one of them. It tried to be Gladiator, and at times succeeded, but the battle system was horrendous and the game felt... stale I guess. It was very aerage in a below average kind of way if you get what I mean.

I admit the beginning is boring, and that the game isn't exactly for everyone. Each to his own, I guess. I only got it because i enjoyed the demo and the ability to be a mage flinging lightning at people.

Spider-Man 2 for the PC because I didn't have a PS2 at the time of release and heard that the game was good. Stupid as I was, I picked up the PC version, which bugged the hell out of my computer and froze constantly. Plus, it was a really crappy version of the game.

It wasn't until a year later that my troubles were mended when I bought the PS2 version and experienced this...

Easily made up for buying that terrible game in the first place.

I thought Super Paper Mario was alright, a nice thing they did, perhaps they will perfect the combat better then the 2D jumping.
It was awful. It took everything good about the first two Paper Mario games (The partners, the interesting story, the interesting battle mechanics, and the combat system) and threw it out the window. I don't own a Wii or the game and I didn't play it for more than an hour or two, but trust me, if I wanted to, I could have played the whole game. The first part of the game disgusted me so much that I simply couldn't bring myself to play the rest.

I didn't even know games that bad were allowed to exist in this day and age. Everything about it sucks.
A good contender for 'worst game I've played' is Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer. A horrible game based of a crappy movie. I didn't even get past the 1st level, it was torture.

Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing

If you have even heard of this game before, this won't need an explanation.

my god there is no game on the planet that makes you want to kill yourself more.
That's kinda the point. It's a joke game made by Penn and Teller to show you how pathetic real life is.

I once got, and played through, Peter Jackson's King Kong DS because it was a "gift". Terrible game even for a cheap movie tie-in.

Even just reading the wikipedia article is enough to know why, let alone any actual reviews :D

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_rigs:_over_the_road_racing

Much of the game instead centers on the player racing their truck against fellow drivers to the finish line; however, the player's computer-controlled opponent vehicles have no AI and never move from the starting position. In addition, due to a lack of collision detection, there are no obstacles to negotiate within the game, and the laws of physics can be violated frequently.

I still think this game was a joke of some kind...

Steel Battalion. It was almost certainly the single best mech simulator ever made for home use. The trouble was, after the simulation was complete, the developers apparently didn't have any idea what to do with it and so they attached a game that was utterly awful. There were a hilarious number of ways to reach a fail state in a mission - mech destruction, walking into water, running out of fuel, running out of time, running out of ammunition and so forth. The game also ensured that there were plenty of ways to reach a fail state in the campaign as a whole that resulted in having to start the game over at the beginning. These included failing a mission too many times, running out of resources, or simply failing to eject upon mech destruction.

Fail states aside, the real problem was one of AI. Simply put, the enemy was unable to present a challenge unless the game was tipped severely in their favor. From random instant death traps (a bridge that collapsed without warning for example, which if you didn't know to expect it was almost inescapable death) to enemies with instant kill abilities to simply being hilariously outnumbered at every turn.

Even all of that wasn't quite enough to make me throw in the towel. The final straw came when I was expected to find a series of crates hidden in a jungle. The trouble was, the map was several square kilometers, the crates were quite small and well hidden and there was no help in the form of a marker on your radar, or even a mechanic to let you know if you got within a certain proximity. The jungle itself was simply teeming with weaker enemies who were all but invisible until they attacked. They also respawned so you were constantly being chipped away at by gnats while stumbling blind through a jungle and facing both a time and fuel limit. Three times I got to that mission on the campaign and failed enough times to reach a campaign fail state.

What makes it all the more painful was the fact that I paid around 200 USD for the privilege of playing this awful excuse for a game. A sequel focusing on the online component was later released and while I considered getting the game, my experience with the franchise was soured to the point that I was unwilling to give the game a second chance at winning my heart.
