I don't know about the worst game EVER, but I did have the misfortune of playing Guilty Gear Core on Wii. I like Guilty Gear, but GGC was horrible. Low resolution sprites inflated to widescreen proportion, responding to commands literally seconds after the button has been pressed. Not fun.
i don't know what it is about mass effect, maybe the pre-determined story line, the horrible sniping (big fan of sniping) and just the overall mess of it.shaun1788 said:

Well shockingly enough the worse game I have ever played is the most recent game that I purchased. ARMA II.
This is not a game designed for fun. The faults are so numerous it goes beyond comical.
- Enemy AI that knows at all times were you are irrespective of cover, or conditions.
- Idiot team members, you attempt to find cover and sneak up they take it upon themselves to ignore your stealth movement and run head long in to the enemy.
- An attempt to make the game as realistic as possible and in doing so makes the game so fiddly and unintuitive to play.
- Slow and unresponsive controls
- Complex and involved character commands but idiotically simplified aircraft commands.
- Overally simplified aircraft commands but they still feel like complete turds to fly
- A total lack of QA prior to launch with a level of buggyness that defies belief.
The reason why this game gets the title as the worst game I have played is because all the elements for a potentially great game are there and yet they are layered in such a quagmire of utter shit that the game becomes utterly unplayable on any level.
People should play this game to see just how bad modern games can really be.

Ahh a thread to show off what a masochist I am. I have rented Superman 64, NARC, AND the predator game for the PS2. They were all piles of shit for different reasons.
Superman64: When you spend 10 minutes flying into the ground because your character controls like a sloth on smack, there may be a problem.
NARC: It's narc. I cannot really elaborate any further than that.
Predator: First level is fun. After that the game turns completely evil.
Edit: Also played battle for Naboo. Only ever played the first level.
