Old school time: When I was five I knew a kid who cheated at everything. I mean EVERYTHING. Play Monopoly and he'd steal from the bank, short-change you on every transaction if you weren't careful, etc. Beat him at a foot race and he and his cronies would ostracize you until you left and he could declare himself the winner. Sit near him in school and he'd try to copy your test answers and steal your notes. Not surprisingly, it wasn't long before I stopped hanging around with him. Sports? He'd only play if his equally crooked father was reffing.
I bumped into him a few times over the next ten years and he never changed. I don't know if he ever played online games, but if he did then whatever one he played I'm sure he cheated at and griefed anyone seen as better than he was.

People on Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 who do nothing but use Doom/Sentinel/Dante spam teams, and then call me "salty" for not being "pro" enough.
My younger brother without a doubt. On three separate occasions he's tried to kill me while in one of his gaming fits of rage. The first one was when he was playing Left 4 Dead by himself and was screaming at it non stop, and I told him to shut up, which set him off on his 'kill Soren' mode. The second was when I was on the computer, probably doing work, while he was screaming at Call of Duty/Halo. Convinced that my being on the computer was making him lose, he was in his kill Soren mode again. The third time I don't remember that well, but I'm pretty sure that it was under the same circumstances at the second one.
It was the second or third time his mother was there, and she blamed me for his murder attempts and told me it was all my fault and that I had only myself to blame for making him attack me (if this really was all my doing, he wouldn't have the games in the first place).

While I was playing City of Heroes some years back I was leading a team through some missions. We were doing great. Rolling right over enemies. No deaths. Nothing. Well we stopped after one mission so I could look for a replacement team mate for a couple people who had to leave. While I was busy looking for said replacements, the worst gamer ever was busy behind my back.
Apparently, he took exception to the other team mate who was using the Empathy power set (the power set most heavy in healing, so is considered the healer power set). In his opinion, the healer should not have taken any attack powers, should not be using an of said powers, and should have sat back and JUST healed. The healer was a newbie and this ass hole laid into him HARD for not playing exactly how HE thought the healer should be played. By the time I noticed what was going on, the newbie had quit and logged out.
I was aghast. First of all, that's not how CoH is played. Heal spammers are useless in late game because squishy team mates can get 1 shot KOed by boss enemies. Healing isn't worth anything is you're already dead. Secondly, we didn't NEED him to be spam healing we were doing just fine. Why this guy took it upon himself to slam down his little monologue is beyond me. Third, heal spammers actually slow good team down because when no one needs healed, they've got nothing else to contribute to the team.
I chewed him out and threw him out of my team and I've always felt guilty for not paying attention and saving that newbie from that know it all prick. I was also pretty pissed at the rest of my team. You can't tell me none of the other four people didn't notice what was going on. They just didn't say anything.

I ask how they can get by without a variety of different games, and it just irritates me that they don't try RPGs or different Action/Adventure games, hell, It'd be a wave of relief if they give Dance Dance Revolution a try, but all they play is the same series of shooters, they don't even play different shooters. Just COD and Fifa.
That's every Fifa, by the way. Every single year it's ''LOOK HOW NEW IT IS!''. It's the same game re-released with better graphics, get the fuck over it and play something else! Vary your games!

He kept changing his name from NiceGuy to TotalAsshole, but would act like a raging idiot teen for the former name and a bubbly supportive teammate with a lisp when he used the latter name. I remember one guy kept calling me a stupid ****** over and over again while I was playing counterstrike source, eventually I responded with and I quote "I don't know what's more laughable, the fact that you're using racial slurs against a white guy you've never met for playing a game, or the obvious difficulty you have with the english language." after which point he started to lose his cool and raged a bunch at me because rather than being insulted by his stupidity I pointed out his speech impediment which was obviously a sore point, thusly causing a negative effect on his play, and causing me to dominate him rather more assuredly.
I've come across some of the most foul mouthed little shits ever in games, usually I respond with a retinue of "Does your mother know you use those words." or "Not my fault you need a diaper change." or "You sound like you're gonna start crying if you keep this up, maybe you should take a break." generally those responses work pretty well, and by work well I don't mean shut them up, I mean piss them off to the point they become completely incomprehensable in the spouting of english mangling gibberish... which I find ammusing.

Certainly not the worst person I've met online, but it's the one that immediately came to mind.
I was playing the newly-downloaded co-op multiplayer missions in Red Dead Redemption alongside another guy. It was the longest mission (I think), where you have to kill the Miners, steal the gold, then have a shootout with/escape from the US Army and then cross the border. Anyway, we'd done all that with flying colours, we were well on out way to crossing the bridge, I was finally going to get the '2 Guys, 1 Co-op' Trophy, when the guy left the session, thus kicking me out of it as well because, well, you can't have a co-op mission with one guy. I checked to see if his connection hadn't shit-itself, and no, he was still online. I let out a cry of 'BASTARD!!' that I'm sure half my town could hear.
