I was having a drunken conversation with a friend a couple days back, and somehow we got onto the topic of what we thought our worst habits were. I'm interested to see what yours are.
I'll start - I tend to see the worst in people, and pick at my finger nails.
My friend's were - She laughs at the worst of times (like when someone has been given horrible news, or when in confrontation), and her other one was that she says 'lol' instead of laughing.

How about yours?

I'm horrible at staying in touch. I don't call, I don't mail, I don't stop by. If it wasn't for Messenger lists and facebook stuff, I'd have a very limited social circle.
Not that I don't want to, or that I'm opposed to social contact, quite the opposite. But it's a dose of slackerdom and experience with always calling/stopping by at the wrong moment that's led my down a path of passivity.

On a smaller note, I organise my inventories in-game like someone with horrible OCD. I can spend half an hour just sorting. In multiplayer RPG's (the few that excist) it can drive fellow players insane because they'll just have to wait.

Well I need to have everything organised or I just get a weird feeling and it goes away when everything is straight and right.

I procrastinate a lot.

Like, right now...

*sigh* I guess I should get to work... after just one more smoke. Maybe just get something to drink too. Ooh, guns getting fired on the Discovery Channel, afk.

I have the strange habit of tricking my friends into hurting themselves or each other.

The best part of it is when one of them bends in agony and the other says, "Wait a sec, why am I listening to your orders?"

Constantly convincing myself there's something uniquely wrong with me to explain away my problems and getting really furious and depressed about it, when I know for a fact that the whole reason I'm so upset to begin with is that I'm just like all 7 billion other mundane nobodies on this planet, except that instead of trying to do something about that like many of them, I'd rather sit around and pretend it's all because I'm a newly evolved subspecies of human or something.

Oh, and I never think to scrub out the sink until there's pink mold growing around the drain seam. Which, as a new subspecies, I eat.

:)

Spending all my time with computers, games, and movies, but never taking the time to learn anything practical about them to use for a future job.

Also relying on getting drunk in order to kick total ass on TF2

I critize everything. Movies. Books. Television shows. Past conversations. Self. Others (although I've at least the common sense to keep remarks about my girlfriend and her family to a bare minimum). And naturally, of course, games.

I find it intellectionally stimulating and engaging. My friends, family, and other relations find the habit annoying at best, and murderously infurating at worst (especially considering my sense of timing could use some training.

I have the habit of psychoanalising anyone I come into contact with based on their speech, body language, and recent events. While this does drive me and others insane, it makes it really easy to tell when someone's lying to me or what someone's intentions are. This allows me to make usually accurate predictions on what they will do next. The down side to this is that I recently discovered a secret I shouldn't have that a few of my friends were hiding from me by doing this and as a result.... well I guess if their willing to double-cross you their not really your friends now are they?

As for others? well, I recently developed the habit of cracking my knuckles, something I did at least 6 times while writing the above.

I think my worst habit is my tendency to think things over for far too long, so that by the name I've thought out what I want to say, the subject or my thoughts on it are no longer relevant. Also, I sometimes don't listen. I worry about whether or not anything I do is productive, even though I constantly procrastinate (or probably because of it).
