what is the most horrible idea you have ever known?

I dare anyone to beat this

[b/]this is not supposed to be serious, so nothing about war or the holocaust or 9/11 or anything like that please[/b]
How is this the WORST idea? DVD rewinders sold like hotcakes because people were unclear on how a laser-read disc system works. It never ceases to amaze me how ignorant people can be.

Worst ideas in history (in my opinion): The Smashing Pumpkins, Social Distortion, re-electing George W. Bush.

Attacking Russia.
Not so much attacking Russia as invading it - the Japanese were rather successful attacking Russia in the Russo-Japanese war of 1904-1905.

But yeah, anyone who has ever attempted to conquer Russia has been utterly destroyed - they may have gotten close, but close simply doesn't cut it.

Prohbition in the early 20th century of America. All it did was increads organized crime and allowed people like Al Capone to rise to power.

NOT Jesus Toast. I love Jesus toast. What an awesome idea.

A terrible idea however is ring-binders where the rings don't join up with each other, not even a bit. So of course, all my paper falls out.

This thread. But I say that only so no one else can.

The actual worst idea I've seen... Gosh, whatever Disney is doing with TV shows lately. Case and point from back then would be Gargoyles.
Mostly everything. Phineas and Ferb is actually quite clever.

For me it has to be lawn darts. They were basically oversized darts with oversized sharp ends that were thrown in the air, and that always came down point-first.
Completely agreed. Disney in general has turned to the dark side of the force. However; I'm interested in their "A Nightmare Before Christmas." I'm not particularly a Jim Carrey fan, and I know some content will be removed because it has to be Disney'd up (or kid-comedy added), but something about it feels pretty good, for some reason.

Possibly imperialism, notably the conquest of the Americas by Cortez. Invading Russia (seriously, don't do it). Like someone above said, Stalin's purging of his generals fours years before germany invaded the USSR. Ponchos. Body-warmers/gillets. Anyone who buys a football club.
