Worst in-game advice

Not that it's necessarily the WORST advice, but when repeated ad nauseam it had me do terrible things to other people which I probably wouldn't have done otherwise.

my friend and I used to laugh at Sumner's voice all the time.. we'd say things like "CONGRATULATIONS!! YOU HAVE FOUND A CHEST!"

... well, we thought it was funny back when we were kids

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. I was playing through it recently and was at that giant golem boss battle. I died, and when I started the fight over that chao thing gave me the helpful hint "Its weakness is its body."

It is indeed about in game advice. However it seems to be in danger of morphing into loading screen tips.

At the beginning of every MGS game (with the exception of 4) where they call you up every 2 seconds to do the most simplest of actions.

Fuck off, Colonel! I know how to climb a fucking ladder!!!

I like how Colonel always says "Press the Action button" as if you are automatically supposed to know what button that is, having played for all of 2 minutes. You're going to have to cycle through button-presses before you figure out whether it's square or circle or triangle...

If you know the button already, the advice is pointless.
If you DON'T know the button, the advice is still pointless.

Does anyone think it would be a nice touch if the whole of a games tutorial was based around what your side thinks is the best way to win, like in what turns out to be a stealth game the tutorial is run by a propaganda spewing sergeant that tells you your invincible and to just keep shooting no matter the odds, but then new aliens show up and muller everyone else... it would be a bit like officers telling their "tommys" to walk slowly and not to rush on the first day of the somme

I know! Now I love MGS, i mean I LOVE MGS but all the "advice" dialoge from the colonel is just absolutely pointless. Everything he says can be found in the fucking instruction manual!!!!
