Broke a couple bones in my right foot playing American Football. No insurance. Stayed home for a couple weeks to let it heal.
Some of it may be internet tough guy syndrome.lacktheknack said:I just posted it earlier in the bike helmet thread.
Imagine a 250 pound slab of person sailing at 30 km/h (about 14 mph) into a fence, dragging his (helmeted) head across the sidewalk.
Badly bruised, nasty headache, only two cuts for some reason, no ripped clothes, bike still functional. I'm completely shaky, but I recover in a few days. Nothing too bad.
Heck, the worst injury I've EVER had and went to a doctor over was a hairline fracture in my foot from falling off a couch.
EDIT: Holy crap, some of you guys are NUTS. Consider moving somewhere where your medical care is tax-funded if it's really a kick in the wallet to get a doctor to look at you. Someone's going to get killed.
Holy hell. I doff my hat to you sir.Frozen Donkey Wheel2 said:Well, I suppose this counts. A while ago, I managed to land myself with Stage 3 (out of 5, and 5 is "Total Failure) Kidney disease. A whole lot of doctors attempted to convince me to let them put a lot of different tubes in my....personal tube....and I always said no, convinced I could fix it myself simply by pissing more often. Long story short, I did. And even though they admitted that I was now completely healthy, the STILL wanted to shove the tubes in the....other tube....because they weren't exactly sure why'd I'd gotten Stage 3 disease in the first place. (FUN FACT: The most likely solution, even according to the doctors, is a botched catheter insertion (look it up)during spinal surgery I had in 6th grade. Which I may not have needed in the first place.) So that's why I don't trust doctors.
Aw hell thanks for reminding me.Paksenarrion said:I'm surprised no one mentioned a broken heart.
