If you punch a hole in the dirt, you can hide from monsters. Chopping trees with your hands yields wood that you can turn into planks and build tools with.

Also, if you hear lots of gunfire, you should totally go check it out.

This one was taught by my little sister: Never, EVER, use your older brother's memory card with ALL of his Final Fantasy saves as a birthday present for him...especially if you've wiped the memory card of all data.

He wasn't mad, I don't think. I think he just sunk into depression for a while. Having 100% or close-as-can-be saves for FFVII/VIII/IX/Tactics and a few other RPGs lost is...saddening. She meant well, but still.

Edit: D'oh...IN a video game...well, does this still count in any fashion?
Indeed it does not! Come! Share your in game experiences with us!

Oh lordy. Let's see. Well, MMOs have taught me that whether they be free or pay-to-play, you WILL have to endure an infinitesimal fraction of the human stupidity. I suppose it's also taught me that people of all walks, while different, can be complete asshats.

Most of this I already knew, but the games just reinforced them with extreme measure.

From most games: a hunk of bread or stale chips you find in various trash cans will definitely patch up gunshots/stabs/bruises/broken bones

My reply consists not of an quotation, but of an explanation of a rather unneededly silly moment:

*SPOILERSPOILERSPOILERS*
In Final Fantasy IV characters die. And later they come back for the final battle. That pretty much dissapointed me. Don't get me wrong, I felt somewhat sad that characters died and that I wouldnt see them again, but still - them dying was cool. I presumed that they would ressurect them in the sequel in some way, but ... again, even that is just stupid.

***

People die and they don't come back. In games it's different and I believe that some people have trouble comprehending why life isn't like that... and they keep casting Phonex Downs on theyr passed away ally... what a shame...

Star Ocean The Last Hope

"We need to be good and make out hearts worthy of evolution."

Just because of the sheer stupidity of the 'lesson'. The game is still fun though.

God of War is a pretty bad example of...everything.

Nothing is your fault. It's ALWAYS someone else's fault. And they must pay. IN BLOOD.

From Fallout 3/New Vegas.

Trees are invulnerable to attack and will block...

Bullets
Fire
Lasers
Plasma
Corrisive Venom
and the occasional grenade

...despite the fact that all of these would be harmful to wood.

Fallout 3's ending.

Self sacrifice is the only way to morality even if there are multiple ways that should be able to be done that they don't let you where no one has to die. In the DLC which I didn't play supposedly, you can supposedly do one of them which is to get the mutant to go into the chamber but then he calls you a coward. Yes, not sacrificing your life when it is not necessary for your goal is considered "cowardice." lol WTFBBQ.

murder is the answer to almost any problem in life.
eating food instantly causes your wounds to heal and your bones to pop back into place.
everything drops money when it dies.

Kind of obvious, but it's okay to waltz into anyone's home and steal all their stuff. From almost every RPG ever made.

Together, those two make a ton of sense. But only if what you murder has a wallet on it! Or poops gold.

Fable II: That farting will make girls fall in love with you.
Really? In both Fable games I didn't do any of the expressions except when a quest called for it and I still had women, and men for that matter, falling all over me. I couldn't walk into a single town in the game without seeing a whole sea of big hearts floating above people's heads.
